Me and my friend just got pulled over by state police.
She was driving.
Doing 55 in a 75, no license (she left it at school), and no seatbelt.
I told her when we left school she was gonna get in trouble.
I always wear my seatbelt.
It's a habit.
I always have my permit one me, and I'm scared to drive fast.
So to make a long story short...
She just got hit with a $300 ticket.
She has no job to pay for it, has a court date, and her parents are gonna kill her.
It is also flooding here in Missouri so the roads are really dangerous.
Just a hint, people...
Don't be reckless drivers.
It's nothing but trouble.
Sorry.
I had to get that off my chest.
It was annoying me.

This is an extremely touchy subject for me to deal with, because personally someone I loved and cared about deeply died because he was speeding, not paying attention (the fullest), and not wearing a seatbelt.

Its one of those things, where you dont realize how good you have it when you just get pulled over instead of going to the funeral of a loved one.
Its just one of those things that make you blink, and REALLY pay attention life.

Thats all I have to say about that.

Well there's obviously a lot of problems there, but ironically, the thing that probably got her pulled over in the first place was her going 20 miles under the speed limit.

I know what you mean.
I know a guy who had a college scholarship to wrestle but became a vegetable in a wreck.
And that's what I mean.
Not only is there money involved, but you can hurt or kill yourself or someone else.

that last ad was really traumatizing george!!!!!!

we have ones sort of like that in canada. not as graphic though i don't think. (but then again, those workplace safety ads we have are probably as graphic as they come)

anyways, going 20 UNDER the speed limit is also against the law, which is probably why she was pulled over. going 55 in a 75 zone is pretty dangerous because people who are going 75 will have to jam on the breaks!

and no offense, I know shes your friend & all, but driving without a license AND without a seatbelt?????? not to smart at all.

So unfortunately for her, I guess she'd better get a job to pay for that ticket!

I've only gotten one ticket before--and it was a parking ticket...IN MY SCHOOL PARKING LOT.
Because I forgot my ($650!!) parking pass, i wrote a note in my dash with my parking pass# on it, but I still got a ticket (only $25, but STILL, I'd already paid $650 to be parking in that parking lot!!!)

There is one ad that's on often that I don't like. It's a MADD one, where the cop pulls some kids over to check to see if they're okay, and then a drunk driver smashes into them.
It's sad =(

Youtube isn't working for me right now.

I was JUST going to say that one.

OMG I HATE THOSE.
Stupid girl with the flaming boiling hot oil.

I've seen it so many times, and I still cringe watching it.
There's also the one where they put up glasses, that blur the road everytime they put one up. It's a creative.. concept.

Random question: Do you guys have road safety adverts in the USA/Canada?

They always seem to play over here. Last one I saw was this one

http://youtube.com/watch?v=FS5f73EHRhA

Here's a couple for seatbelt wearing...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=zWvNeJXE_cY
http://youtube.com/watch?v=uRU11fGUomY

They have some for using a mobile phone, drink driving, motorcycling, speeding, etc. They get shown on almost every channel as well.

Now back to your regular DISing...

Ugh. Now I'm scarred for LIFE.

Yeah.
She had been going 75 in the 55 and switched.
She likes to joke around, which is really dumb.
To fast.
To slow.
It's all road rage to me.
One way or another...
Her parents took her license away before the law did.
