I can't believe my son is leaving.... Update...

Awww, good luck to him. And hugs for you. I bet you are very proud of him!

My son is going into the Army at the end of the month. I am not sure where he will be going for boot camp, we live in CT. he keeps saying Texas but I would think they have a boot camp somewhere closer. I am hoping so, I want to see graduation.
He is 31 and a chef. Unfortunately he couldn't find any jobs with this economy so he took 15 college credits and will go in as an F4.
My youngest son is 27 and went into the Marines when he was 25 and couldn't find a job out of college.I went to his graduation from boot camp at Parris Island and it was so nice, I am, hoping I can get to see my Army son's boot camp graduation.

My son enlisted in the Army in September. He has a combined basic training and AIT (for Military Police), so his graduation is February 17. He is at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO now. He is to report to Ft. Hood on February 22. Here's praying for all the mom's who's sons are in the armed forces, and that their soldiers stay safe.

:hug:crazyme5kids. I can imagine how sad you feel. At the same time, you can be incredibly proud of what he's going to become: someone who protects your country and freedom. This is a major transition in your life, so be gentle with yourself.

My son has now been in the Air Force for about 2 1/2 years and his leaving for boot camp was the hardest five minutes of my life. I say that only so you know it gets easier:)

I thought his being stationed in Japan was a little difficult, and communication definately is hard but I know now the second thing I'll ever do is say good-bye to him when he leaves for Iraq on March 12th.

Bittersweet is a perfect way to put it:thumbsup2 We have raised strong, courageous boys who will turn into men before our very eyes. May your son stay healthy, happy and safe. And to you Mom, keep the faith:hug:

Please thank your son for his service. My dad was stationed at Fort Hamilton in the Army Reserve for many many years. I used to go and play at the park that is right near the base & my aunt actually was married at their officers club.

I will keep your son and his fellow service men and women in my prayers.

I commend your son for his upcoming service. I wish you and your family well. Having a loved one leave home is never easy but in time it will get better.
