I can't believe it!! **Updated**

My poor little sweetie has PNEUMONIA!!! She feels miserable, and has no energy. Luckily we caught it before it got too bad.

I was trying SO hard to keep us all well before the cruise on Saturday, and BAM! Oh well, at least it's only Monday, so she will have a few days for the antibiotic to take effect.



This morning she is already feeling much better! Your well wishes seem to be doing the trick...or perhaps the Zitromax had a little to do with it, too. Thanks so much for all your thoughts!

add something.

I know you didn't ask for it,
but here's some unsolicited advice:
PLEASE tell your Dr. that you have a cruise
planned for this weekend,
and see what they have to say,
(if you haven't already told him/her).

Pneumonia is nothing to mess with.
Many people take weeks to recover from
it, no matter how early it was caught,
and they can relapse very quickly
(I'm not talking about older folks).

My gut reaction was that your DD would be
away from home, on a ship, and even tho they certainly have
Dr.'s this weekend seemed awfully close to be relying
on medical help that you don't know personally.

JMHO, my apologies if I overstepped the boundaries.
I do hope you have a wonderful time if you go...

luvthatduke, thanks so much for the advice. I did tell the doctor we were going on a cruise this weekend, so she made sure to give her a really strong antibiotic to knock it out. She told me if my daughter wasn't better by Wednesday to bring her back for a recheck.

Luckily we caught it early, so it wasn't too bad...yet. You are 100% right in what you said, and I am hoping that she won't relapse!!

My DD had pneumonia when she was in kindergarten, she had just turned 6. She wasn't real bad either but was out of school for a MONTH. Hope your little one gets over it soon. It would be the absolute worst to have to change plans now. As long as the doctor knows, go if he says it's ok!

Oh cynsaun, I certainly hope your little one has a full and speedy recovery! My ds9 had pneumonia when he was 4 (6 months after he recovered from bacterial meningitis--what a wild year that was! ) and I know how physically and emotionally draining it can be--for the child as well as the parents!

I've said a little prayer that your precious girl is well on her way to good health and that the rest of your family stays healthy as well!

P.S. Everytime I answer one of your posts I feel the need to respond with a Seinfeld quote. Such pressure!

Ok, now you are all freaking me out!!! She feels really cruddy, and I am hoping that the doc is right, and by Wednesday, she should be feeling better! When all is said and done, she will have been out of school for a month, but that is because a week (possibly a week and a half!!) is being added to her three week track out!
