I can't believe I'm finally going!

When I was 12, way back in 1988, my mom ordered a vacation planning kit from Disney World. We had gone to Disneyland in 1982, but hadn't had a big family vacation since. I remember pouring over the booklets, thinking how much it would cost to stay at the Polynesian, or the Grand Floridian, and pondering whether really it would be best to stay at the cabins at Ft. Wilderness. However, we never could find the money to go, and our trip was called off.

Now, my husband and I are taking our four year old princess to WDW. I am so excited, I can barely believe it. We're arriving on May 17th and staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for 5 nights. There's no way after all these years I wouldn't stay on site. I can barely handle the antici....pation. We've already taken a trip to Europe this year and my husband said he would have taken me to WDW years ago if he had known how excited I'd get. I only regret we did this on such short notice that I can't stay at the Grand Floridian or dine at Cinderella's castle. But there's always next time!

The first time you stay on site is always the best. AKL is great too. Hope you requested a third floor savana room! My kids thought is was the best as they got a close up view of the giraffes. Have a great time! And stop at the castle and see if any cancellations come in you never know. At WDW, magic has a way of just happening!

How exciting !! I remember taking my DDs on their first visit six years ago. They were 5 and 7. Now they are 11 and 13, and just returned from their fourth trip.

Now you'll be addicted to WDW like the rest of us !

How wonderful for you!!! My DD was 4 for her first trip and I can still remember her little face when she saw the castle for the first time. It will bring you so much joy to watch her experience this for the first time. You are giving her such a wonderful gift that will be full of memories. Have a great time and live it up.

Thanks for all the well wishes! I finally have all of our ADRs, now I just have to try to keep it all a secret from our daughter for 33 days!
