I can't believe I just did that...

Diane--this just goes to show that h*** can freeze over! You are the last person I ever expected to say the words "I rented my points". I am sure you are making some people very happy and that doesn't surprise me of you at all.:)

You are such a maverick. A DVC Rogue. Next you'll be using points to stay at a non-DVC Disney resort.

Turn in your DVC purist button. ;)

LOL, well, I'm probably drawing the line there! I think H***really WOULD freeze over if I did that!

It's something about the first time that makes it hard for people (myself included!). Ok, you did it!! You go girl! Now, get over that renting scare and take this experience as a positive. Now you have a plan "B" for your points!:goodvibes

Hi Hope! :wave2:

As hard as it is to accept I am seriously considering using Dadio's service to rent out our points to pay for our side trip to Paris next summer before our Med cruise. I also always said I'd NEVER consider renting. Well, I still have no interest in doing it myself which is why I would use a service. But I am really not liking the DLP system right now so I am starting to lean more toward staying in the city & just taking the train out to DLP a couple of times. Our DVC point value there SUCKS and the DLP cash packages are RIDICULOUSLY pricey (with the terrible dollar right now it could easily run $1,500 for a package at a "moderate" resort for 4 nights). I'm also hearing that the DLP resorts are cheap knock-offs of our WDW resorts. So who wants to pay that much to stay onsite in an inferior hotel?!:sad2:

...(snip)..... 2012 I'll be able to bend my rules for a change and do a studio somewhere. Heck, I might even stay at BCV or BWV for a change! Seems only fitting since I'm sailing in uncharted waters anyway!
Who are you? And what have you done with our Diane? :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl2: :thumbsup2 ;)

Our rental rates very from $10-$16 per point.

For people who do not know about sites like this, paying $16 pp is still a good deal when compared to Disney Hotel rates.

My friend just rented to me for $7 a point. She set the price and swears that it was good for her. (She did pay off her K several years ago, though.)

Not sure what this has to do with the original topic. I didn't do it for the money...just did it to help a friend out, and I don't think $10 is too much to ask, if that was your point. In fact, they were thrilled, because it was considerably less than they were expecting.

:lmao: it's not the dollar; it's just Europe - you're not talking about Orlando or Vegas.

When we went to Rome a couple of years ago (march 09) we were *thrilled* that the Euro was "collapsing" all the way down to $1.35 - it had been in the $1.60 range for a good while. I see that it's still at about $1.35, so that's not bad at all. Europe is expensive.

Also, I think you have the right idea now: forget DLP - take your family to see Paris!
