I Can't Believe I Invited My MIL -I'm BAAACK! And determiend to finish this thing!

Don't worry about Buzz not liking the character breakfast. My 3 sons have endured 2 princess breakfasts and they haven't complained yet. I think they secretly like all the attention they get.;) Because it's rare to find a big mass of testosterone in the pink frilly estrogen environment!:)

Fantastic pre trip report!! Having another adult around is definately a good idea. We are going to be at LTT at the same exact time as your family, so if you see a pooh sized woman and her b/f in a motorized wheelchair smile and give a small wave to you and your family, that would be us.

Can't wait to read more popcorn::.

Wow - how cool!! I will seriously be on the lookout for you all...And you've seen us, so please say hello if you notice us first!!

I have read your Pre-trippie and it is great!!! Look like we'll be completing our TRs at the same time.... But I don't want to think about that yet! :sad2: The worst part is having to come home and not have a trip to dream about anymore!!!

NYC World of Disney is only one store comprised of 3 floors and about 24,000 sq. feet ... it's a nice touch of Disney close to home :) ...

Wow!!! THat is cool.....This may come as a huge shock (haha), but we don't have anything like that here in l'il ole South Carolina....

Well, if there is one thing the DIS has done for me, it has turned me into a thief. That's right - a cold-blooded bandit with no remorse. Just check out the 25 - count 'em, 25! - items I stole this past weekend while out running errands with my children:

IMG_5087.jpg

That's right. Mickey Head paint chips. Not to mention, I also stole the idea for this countdown calendar from some unsuspecting DISer. Just remember, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Stealing 25 of those bad boys was no easy feat. I tried to play it cool, nonchalantly strolling past the paint chip display. I pretended to stop as though they had grabbed my attention; like I have never seen those wonderful little squares of goodness before.

"Honey, look at this...Disney paint colors!"

Donald rolled his eyes. He knew at this point I was up to no good.

I grabbed a few. Maybe 5. I wanted an assortment of colors, of course, so after glancing around surreptitiously, I grabbed a few more of another color. Then I told my daughter, in a louder than necessary voice, to choose the color she might like for her room. At this point, I grabbed a few more colors, then grabbed THE PRINCESS by the collar and sped us all away to the nuts and bolt aisle. I proceeded to count my paint chips. Oh horrors - I only had 19!! How had I made so gross a miscalculation??

"Donald, go back and get me 6 more paint chips...reds and greens, please!" I hissed.

"Are you crazy? I am not getting hauled into the Clink for the sake of your crazy obsessive Disney craft projects."

"See if I let you "X" off any of the days on my calendar, then, Mr. Meanie Pants."

Ultimately, I had to slink back over, grab 3 reds and 3 greens, and then slink away. I swear, the man mixing the paint had his finger on the security button the whole time. I tossed him a hi-there-bordering-on-flirtatious-smile and swished away from there as fast as I could. I left Home Depot with my head held high.

I then had a little talk about shoplifting with the kiddos on the way home.

But it was all worth it, because Wednesday night we started counting down...
IMG_5090.jpg

Buzz is in kindergarten, so I am hoping this calendar will serve dual purposes: 1. Build up oncontrollable excitement and anticipation in the kids (in other words, make the feel like their mother about this trip), and 2. Help him learn to count backwards from 25. Backwards counting has been a struggle so far. We have only mastered from 10 on down.

OK, up next: My Planning Notebook. Oh, this little beauty is so pimp. I will put that installment up soon-ish. Begging will be accepted and appreciated.:upsidedow

I LOVE IT!!!!!!! I can't wait to make my countdown calendar!

Now I HAVE to see your notebook! get on with it girlie!

Are you going to your pom competition this coming year? I'll be at WDW from Jan 31st-Feb 13th. I always look at Varsity.com to see if they'll be any cheer/dance comps while we're there. We have NEVER had any problems w/ the young women (and few young men) and really it doesnt affect crowds in the park. Well, maybe MGM, but other than that nope.

If you are there, I know you'll be busy, but be on the look out for a pack of Asians. We'll be the ones taking pictures outside the restrooms.:thumbsup2

It is almost done... Iactually posted a thread yesterday asking for suggestions on what I should put in the darn thing. I have the basics in there, but I am sure I am missing something. But I just love making that little book!!

But of course!! We go every year...I think 2008 is Feb 1-3, or something along those lines. So we will certinaly be there at the same time!!! I will mos def be on the lookout for Asians with cameras... I am sure I'll find you. Seriously, though, you'll have a beer in one hand, your camera in the other, and you'll be stalking the pottys... Sound about right?;)

I coach two teams, and the younger team competes over at Wild World of Sports, which is nice. The older squad competes at MGM in the Inidiana Jones Theater, which is more hectic. We typically stay at ASSports or Mu. It is a great time! I typically have one whole free day to myself - woo hoo!!!

I love the countdown calendar!! I also love hearing stories about liberating mickey mouse paint chips :rolleyes1. Bill thought I was crazy when I told him I wanted to go to the Home Depot and get some LGMH's. Thanks for reminding me, I might go get some more today :rotfl:.

 I felt the same way when I decided to abduct some LGMH's from Home Depot. I felt like the paint guy was really onto me so I kept saying to DD, "Which color would you like your room to be?" and she just kept looking at me like I was nuts since she was only about a year old :rotfl2: Great job, the countdown looks great! Now let's see that notebook :thumbsup2

I love your calander. Great minds must think alike.................................

I almost feel sorry for the people working for Disney marketing...

"Well, we can't understand why the paint isn't selling...the chips are oing like HOTCAKES!!"

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Okay, I will be there that weekend as well. The 1st and 2nd I will be on my own. I need the solitude before the rest of the family arrives. Your description fits pretty much, but alone, I won't be stalking Potty's as I might get arrested for taking pictures of complete strangers entering restrooms:eek: :scared1: On the 3rd, I'll be at Epcot all day w/ my friend, Kim...just FYI.

Wow!! We'll each be at WDW at the same time....and we each have a free day!! :teacher:

Are you down with OCD? Yeah, you know me!

Part of the fun of the WDW vacay for me is in the planning. Specifically, I like to have organized binders and notebooks. I have had a binder full of info since I planned this mutha of a vacation back in February. But I have been forcing myself to delay the wonderful gratification that is the PLANNING NOTEBOOK until I was at lmost 30 days out.

We leave in 20 days!!! :woohoo:

My planning notebook is more or less complete!!! I will be double checking a few things, updating packing lists based on weather forecasts, etc., but basically this bad boy is ready to get carefully placed into my baggallini and begin its long nap amongst the ponchos, pepto tablets, and glow sticks in preparation for the BIG DAY.

Here is a picture of the cover....
hmbaud64

As you can see, I admire simple design. Really, I do. I am not a huge lover of cluttered surfaces, stickers, cute lettering and the like. Now, I love these things on other peoples binder, notebooks what have you. But for me, it is a less is more kind of thing. That's just how I roll.

OK, so basically this little book of goodness and sacred knowledge is about 5" tall (oh so portable!)...with a plastic cover (THE PRINCESS chose reddish pink). IT has four color coded sections, which you can see when you turn the book to the side. I used each section for one park, which is kind of a no-brainer but I did not give IQ tests to my readers prior to allowing them to sub, so who knows how many of you will figure that out on your own? I took about 10 pages in the last section (AK, as luck may have it) and I am using that for "Miscellaneous." This is where one can find info on the resort, check-in, and DTD. Well, I say that is where "one" could find info, but we all know darn well that mine will be the only fingers touching this book. Heaven help Donald, MIL, or the kids if they try to get their grubby mitts on my book.

OK, so each park section breaks donw like this:
1. - park hours, ADRs, parade/show times, etc. - the basics
2. - speical goals for that day (get a Dole Whip, ride Buzz, etc.)
3. - blank - for character times/show times from the board that day
4. - a mpa of the park with numbers over the attractions we will be htting that day, in proper order thankyouverymuch
5. - the day's touring plan, copied and pasted
6. - a list of fast pass attractions in that park
7. - a list of snack credit option for that parl
8. - a bunch of blank pages...for more crucial info that I am sure I will need.....
9. - a bunch of blank pages to journal each day's activities for the sake of my extremely humorous and interesting TRIP REPORT to be completed when I return.....

A few more pics....
IMGP0193.jpg

my fingers are blocking my ADR time, but also give a good perpective on size...

IMGP0195.jpg

I put quite a few more pics on photobucket, but many of them show my touring plans, and I don't want to get in trouble with the Touring Plan people, so perhaps I should keep those to myself. :rolleyes1

So there you have it. Simple. Easy to use. Just a little piece of wonderful.

Did I mention yet that we leave in 20 days??????:yay: :yay: :woohoo:

By the way, I am still looking for ideas regarding info for my little jewel of a planning notebook.... I f you can think of anything I left out, please please please let me know!!!

Until then, I will put my baby back under my pillow for safekeeping....
