Behold the power of the human spirit...This afternoon I began the first of what I hope will be a regular regimen of *GASP* JOGGING! Now let me just say this; I hate running...I hate jogging...I even hate brisk walks
, but as I sat in front of the tv after lunch at around 12:30 this afternoon I finally felt it. You know...soft, flabby, and well...Disgusted with myself. I just turned 30 and I'm tired of being out of shape. I'm tired of scrounging for clothes that fit and then having to settle for less than stylish ensembles because it's all they carry in a size 14. I'm not fat. I'm 5'8" and about 185lbs, which is WAY over my ideal weight. I would like to get to 155 (ok, 160!). I'd like to be a size 10 (12 when I have my period!), instead of a 14/16. I want to KNOW that I can go for a quick jog and not feel dead afterwards.
I was SOO incredibly invigorated after my run today. I was shocked at just how well I did (for my first time out). I jogged for about 25 minutes (maybe a mile and half) but half of that was uphill, and I mean UPHILL. Of course I stretched first and cooled down afterwards, but I amazed myself when I reached the spot I promised myself I would force myself to jog to and found I was ready for MORE! I had the ipod cranked up and was really into it. I bet I'll be sore tomorrow but it'll be worth it.
My goal (and the ultimate reason I started this jogging program) was so I can wear a two-piece during our upcoming trip to WDW this November and have pictures I can look back at and feel PROUD of.
I don't plan to alter my diet much. I eat 3 normal meals a day and don't snack. I HATE dieting more than excercise! I really am amazed at what I can do when I am motivated. So anyone else here wanna join in my jogging program and we can track our success together? I'm hoping to add maybe 1/2 mile to my runs each week.
Any joggers out there with any pointers for me?

Plus, you just feel so dang good when you exercise...and so crappy when you diet.

ENJOY!
