I can't believe he said yes! We conquered June! the end...9.10.10

It's really hard to have a minute by minute plan at Disney. Mine never works out, but 9:15 isn't a bad time to get in the park.

The breakfast looks great, another one we need to try.

Hmm, just realized you were at DAK the day after us, I wonder if the crowds were about the same.

Keeping the plan is always hard... during our April trip, I mixed up the morning EMH days and we got to DHS ready to take Toy Story Mania by storm and realized there were already people in the park! Oh man I was so bummed! But you have to think of it like... a mixed up day at Disney is still better than any other day! :goodvibes

Tusker House seems fun. Jungle Juice (aka Frunch as they call it at Boma!!) is one of my favorite things EVER!! I crave it all the time. I have tried to find a similar juice at home and there just isn't one!

I try not to do too much minute by minute to avoid jokes from my family. I also know they will rarely pan out anyway. Originally, as we were waiting for the buzzer to go off, it looked like it could be 9am before we would get in to eat! But in retrospect, I think it seemed that way just because I thought things would be crazier than the day turned out to be....:rolleyes1

The crowds were not what I expected.....

I had two days I had a 'firm' plan because of what we wanted to tackle. One was getting on EE as much as possible. The other was DHS. I wanted to do stand-by for TSM plus get FPs. Then I wanted to be sure to get RnR and TOT in because last year we could not do all three in one day due to sleeping in and FPs were ridiculous!! Wow! If I had shown up and saw people were already there I would have been bummed as well!! But your are exactly correct...."a mixed up day at Disney is still better than any other day! :goodvibes"!!!

I think the juice at 'Ohana is very similar also. I crave it also!! I was craving the juice at 'Ohana from the time we began planning the trip...just knowing we would be back there. I felt lucky to get it (or at least similar juice) twice in one week!!

Glad to see that your day went as almost planned. We have had breakfast and dinner at Tusker House. The food was good if I go back it would be for the characters. The juice was good I think it is the same at Ohana's. Have to ask my DS if he can find out how it is made.:)

I'm in! I'm going back to read from the beginning now :surfweb:

I kept telling DH that the reason you go is for the characters and not really the food. They metioned about 5 juices but now I can't remember them all!! Passionfruit and orange are the only two I remember. Just talking about it makes me want some!! :)

Welcome!!!! :welcome: I am so glad you have decided to join me!!

I love the family picture with Donald!! :)

I am always running about 15mins behind at WDW. It's just one of those things. Especially when you have to coordinate more than just yourself to get somewhere!

Your trip report is off to a great start! I understand all about things running a little behind the plan. I felt the same way about the food a Tusker. It was OK, but nothing I would race to eat again. I think if we go back we will try for that early morning ADR time. Our ADR was for 10:15 and we didn't get seated until 10:40!

Thanks! I thought the picture turned out well! We don't get many with all of us!!

I usually run a little late no matter where I am. I should have been used to it and not surprised!!:rotfl:

Wow, for an ADR that was a wait! We had one long wait last year at Coral Reef and it just wasn't worth it! I have to admit I was a little disappointed in the food but the atmosphere was pretty good!!

As we head to Kilimanjaro Safari I take a look at the I-Phone Line App and it states an 8 minute wait for EE. I can live with that!! :goodvibes

We pretty much walk on to KS. I think we were “in line” for 5 minutes. Most of that was walking the queue area. KS is fun for me since I really like animals. I had read that the morning and evening times are best to see the most animals and we definitely saw a lot!! I am crazy about giraffes and I got to see several.

Madison loves elephants and she scored on that! The only thing that was a disappointment was the bridge did not almost collapse! :sad2: We were braced for it and it never happened! Verdict from Keith?? It was alright…story about the poachers was “lame”. Whatever, you just enjoy the ride!

Here are some various pictures we took on our safari!

Hippos!!

Crocodiles!!

Cattle...I forgot what they were called exactly!

Flamingos....I always take tons of pictures of flamingos at any zoo...they are so pretty!

We also saw the lions but I couldn't get a good shot since they were lying down. I also thought I had gotten the elephant but they are nowhere to be found! :confused3:sad2:

We finished this ride up and I sent the kids ahead to get those most important FPs for EE. We are to meet them there to get in stand-by. Keith doesn’t really like rides since they can make him dizzy. Along the way I am trying to explain why the kids are running ahead for FPs and the ride itself. Keith doesn’t understand why we want to ride something more than once…uhmmmm…..because it is AWESOME!!! :cheer2: As I am explaining all of this a very kind stranger over hears us talking and hands us 2 FPs!! What? This is the 1st of many signs that we have things going our way…at least for today! :woohoo: Even with the earlier delays!! The FPs the kids get have a return time around 11am and the bonus 2 have a return time of 10:30 so I figure we will just use them all at 11am! We hop into the EE stand-by line which was about 10 minutes and breeze through until it is our turn!! Finally I am back and ready to face the Yeti!!

This queue is so wonderful. I snapped a lot of pictures along the way. I also get the impression Keith is at least a little impressed even if he doesn’t admit it!! :cool1:

Keith isn’t into roller coasters and claims a one-time ride. So the kids and I each have 2 FPs to ride later!! :yay: I made the mistake of leaving my sunglasses in the net bag on EE! I can’t believe I did that!! :headache: I am glad I have a spare back in the room!!

So now we have had breakfast at Tusker House, gone to the savannah and rescued that little elephant, and taken on the Yeti plus we have 2 sets of FastPasses to return to EE!! And the time…9:50am!! So now I am done keeping up with the time!! I have accomplished my goal and the rest is just gravy!!

Boy…the crowd level was awesome. At least a lot better than I had anticipated!! But it was hot (and bright without my shades :cool2:)!!

So the Plan for the rest of the day:

Finish up at Animal Kingdom (do whatever we want to see)

Return to the resort for a break

Dinner at Whispering Canyon Café (7:35pm reservation)

Hmmm…how will these plans work out??? Well, we shall see but first we have to go rescue a dinosaur!!!

Considering you were at a character breakfast and you had to set up your tickets I think your morning has gone great so far!

Our plan for the 6th was thrown out the window as we tried the busiest park that morning at DHS for Star Wars Weekends. What a contrast in parks.

TinksThree, :woohoo: on the addl FP's. Your day was going well. And I love that shot of the giraffes with the two babies.

And if you love Flamingo's, you need to give Busch Gardens here a try. They are brightly colored pink and almost orange.

And loving your pics on EE. I do the same thing. My husband gets mad because all the ride photos, I have my camera up taking photos.

Hmmm, wonder what else you ride, can't wait to hear how the rest of the day goes. WCC, one of my favorites.

We were at SWW on the 6th also. Have to see if we end up in each others pictures. Actually, I spoke with a lady from TX while I was in line for TSMM FP's, but I believe she was from the Houston area.

I totally see a smile ;)

Don't you just wish you could reach into your picture and grab your sunglasses? Sorry you left them.

Great TR! I love AK so I was excited to see your Everest pictures.

I'm along for the ride!

Wow, that sounds like the perfect AK morning! Good for you guys. Can't wait to hear about Whispering Canyon, I love it there!

I avoided DHS over the weekend for that very reason. We aren't really into Star Wars enough to deal with the crowds. I wonder if that is why AK was so low in the crowd level?! It sure was nice!!!

I have to admit, the morning did go pretty well after I got over the issue of leaving the resort late and getting to AK way later than i had anticipated!

Thanks...I am actually getting that picture enlarged! I wish we could have lingered a bit in that area!! We have been to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg and discussed going to Tampa Bay sometime. That is cool that the flamingos are almost orange!! These seemed "pale" to me! :)

I take pictures of everything. My husband gets mad because we stop so much!! I took a video on one of the EE rides that day. It was so hard to keep it steady and then there is this section of darkness and all you hear are squeals and laughter!!

I totally see a smile ;)
I think he thought since he was behind me...I wouldn't know! :rotfl:

That totally made me LOL!! When I was posting this picture, I thought..."my sunglasses are just right there!!:sad2:"

Welcome! :yay: I am so glad you decided to join in!! I love AK too, it is one of my favorites! Last year I took 425 pictures in AK alone!! This year I tried to see more through my own eyes than the camera lens!! But I still took a lot of pictures--over 100!!

Wow, that sounds like the perfect AK morning! Good for you guys. Can't wait to hear about Whispering Canyon, I love it there!

The morning turned out even better than I had planned!! And that was even considering the "issues" we had to deal with!!

I hope to have the rest of Monday up soon!! :thumbsup2

We love :lovestruc EE too, my kids rode it 6 times in a row. Once was :) enough for my DH, he gets motion sickness so I rode one more time and that was enough for me. Wow KS was walk on that's great timing.

It is such a great ride! My DH chose to sit out after the 1st ride for that very same reason. I must admit I felt a little woozy after the back-to-back ride, but I still was up for one more time! If we hadn't been so tired and making Keith wait we probably would have done it once more before leaving that day!

I almost think it is worth going to KS 1st if you are doing rope drop and then head over for FPs at EE, unless it is a real busy day. I was really wowed by the low crowd level that day!
