I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

Great report as usual Shelley. Always look forward to your TR's! I think it's because my boys are about the same age as yours. I like that you update quickly and don't let it drag out too long :)

Thanks Allie! :goodvibes It's always fun to read TR's when you have things in common with the OP! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't like to drag things on for too long. I think it starts to get boring for the readers after a few months!

Hey there! :goodvibes I'm glad you were able to get all caught up.

Glad you enjoyed the TR. You are right - no trip is perfect, but Disney is as close as you can get I think!! :wizard:

I know, my babies are growing up. I miss them being little, but I am enjoying this stage of their lives too!

Yep, after all the trouble to get the balcony we just felt like doing a little dancing on it! :cool1:

Congrats on your fall trip!

The walk from our standard room at CBR (both times we have stayed there) was about 3-5 minutes to OPR. No big deal at all. The longest walks are from the pirate rooms in Trinidad South and still it's only a 7-8 minute walk. The distances there are greatly exaggerated sometimes! :upsidedow So no, I would never pay for preferred!

We definitely loved the BWI, but I would say that CBR is a better value considering it is half the price! So we would/will go back to the moderates anyday. . . Well, CBR and POR anyway!

Yes we are doing split with the Poly and CBR this time. I can't wait! :cloud9:

Let me know if you are doing a PTR and/or TR!

Thank you so much for sharing your opinions with me. It is hard to decide on the resort sometimes b/c they are all so different and the prices are a big factor. I am really excited about staying at CBR though! I've been reading on the FAQs thread too. There is always so much new info to learn about WDW even when you think you have read and learned it all! So where are you requesting to stay at CBR on your next trip? I'm also curious as to what you think the best non-preferred location would be and why????

I had a bit of catching up to do (not just with this report but with others as well) and am sad that the report is over. I like how you do a "final thoughts" post and that you are honest with your opinions.

You're welcome. :) Anytime!

I know, there are so many great choices and it's so hard to decide!!

The best standard buildings (meaning closest to OPR) are Aruba 51, Jamaica 45, and Martinique 22. All are less than 5 minutes to OPR. We have stayed in Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51, both are great locations. So I would kind of like to be in Martinique this time just for something different. But DH says he will miss the walk over the bridge/island to OPR. :upsidedow I told him that I'm pretty sure he is free to go walk on the bridge/island anytime, even if we aren't staying in Jamaica or Aruba! :rotfl:

So I guess I don't really care too much where we end up. Martinique would be nice just to change it up and stay on that side of the lake, but I would be happy with Jamaica as well because I think it is the prettiest section of the resort. :goodvibes

Let me know if you think of anymore questions.

Hey Lisa! :goodvibes So glad you got to catch up, hope you enjoyed!

Were you able to see Illuminations from the beach at either of the sections you stayed at before (Jamaica or Aruba)?

Yep - from both! :goodvibes And from the pool, the bridge/island, and OPR. I think you can see them from many spots at the resort!

Awesome!!! This place is sounding better every minute! I wonder why so many people don't like it? :confused3 It seems to have so much more to offer than the other moderates. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm going to find out. We seem to think of things in very similar ways so if you have been happy enough to go back there several times, then I think I will love it too. And as honest as you are in your reports, I feel like I can trust your opinion! Thank you for all your help!

I hope you love it or you may never talk to me again!!:rotfl:

I think it has a lot more to offer than the other moderates too. Something keeps us going back! :)

I think what scares most people is the size of the resort and the internal bus stops. But like I told you, we have never found the size to be a problem. Now, when we were put in a room clear out by the highway at OKW, size was an issue. And all the internal stops at CBR take less time than making all the resort stops at the Epcot resorts when they put all 5 resorts on the same bus. (And I've heard the same thing about the MK resorts sharing)

Thanks Kim! :goodvibes Yes that picture is a little easier to take knowing that we are taking them back this summer!!

How is your trip planning coming along?

Sadly not much planning has been done other than finally settling on the week we are going. I'm stalking my email for a pin code but nothing as of yet. I'll spend a good bit of time researching the MNSSHP and planning this summer when I have less daycare kids keeping me busy! :yay:

One of my daycare families is going the week of August 14th though so I've been helping her plan!

 No way! And speaking of talking with you... are you planning a PTR/TR for your summer trip? I'd love to read along now that things have settled down for me. And I'd love to read all about your stay at the Poly! :cloud9:

I probably won't start one until it's a lot closer. I don't have that much to talk about to start it this far out! :rotfl: So be looking in about June!:thumbsup2

I hope you get a good PIN soon. :wizard: At least you are getting to help someone else plan their trip for now while you wait. I have been helping one of DS9's teachers plan her trip and it's so much fun!! :yay:
