I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

I'm officially signing off for the week. My flight is tomorrow at 7:00 a.m., which means getting to the airport around 4:30 !!!

Your last night sounded great. To me sounds like a perfect way to cap off your first BWI stay :lovestruc.

When I get back I'll give a little report about the trip and my friend's wedding, and also let you know when I start my PTR. See you in a week!! :cool1:

Awww, your last night at Disney. :(

It was a fun night it looks like- and how fun to meet up with Shawna and her DH! That's a shame that your boys didn't get a chance to talk to her kids a little bit more. It is always fun for the kids to meet up.

And wow- the event going on at the beach looked so Pretty!! Whoever had whatever it is, I'm sure has very good memories of such a beautiful place.:cloud9:

I've never really seen pics of the interior of B&C-- it reminds me of that ice cream parlor that Marsha worked at in the Brady bunch episode. Remember that one? She sprayed Whipped cream all over her boyfriend for bringing another girl in there while she was working.
That's the first thing I thought of when I saw your pics.

It looks wonderfully yummy though- those onion rings alone make me want to say the heck with dieting.
I bet you gain five pounds just breathing the air in that place!!:rotfl2:

I'm sad it's coming to an end. :(

It's been a great TR!

That is one beautiful sunset at Disney. Much prettier than at home for some reason. ;)

Fantastic meet up with Shawna and her family!

You have now forced me to add ice cream and oreo cookies to my grocery list so I can make these at home...for my kids of course. :rolleyes1

Yes, definitely prettier than any sunset at home! ::yes:: It was a beautiful evening.

You'll have to let me know how you like those sundaes. . . I mean how the kids like those sundaes!!!! :thumbsup2:lmao:

Yes, whoever was having whatever event that evening sure was lucky! :cloud9:

I never gave the Brady Bunch episode a thought when we were there, but now that you say it -- I do remember that!! :rotfl:

Those onion rings were very good, but yes I did feel fat and gross when I came out of there. :scared1: Of course not fat and gross enough to prevent me from getting a funnel cake on the BW later.

Yep, the TR is coming to an end. :sad2: Only a few more updates.
I'm glad you have enjoyed it. I hope everyone else has too!

Just think -- in only 7-8 months I could be doing another one! :yay:

Another great update - I'm curious about the beach event too. Such nice pictures of you on the bridge!

We enjoyed ice cream from the "window" at B&C last summer, but haven't eaten inside yet. Your DH's sandwich looked good to me, as did the onion rings!! "Nostalgic" is the new word for "old". Just like "vintage"! It's what the marketing folks use when they can't come up with any new ideas. Recycle the old ones! Apologies to any marketing folks out there. :)

YAY for a DISmeet with Shawna! Aren't they just the sweetest people? Her kids are awesome!

Thanks Sheree! :goodvibes

Nostalgic, old, vintage -- yes, it's all the same. :lmao:

It was fun to meet Shawna & family!

Hi
I have just started reading your trip report and I am really enjoying it! Do you remember how much the pearl and the carriage necklace were? Thanks so much!

Who else thinks Shelly got one of those 6:00 a.m. calls? My guess is that one of the teachers called in sick today Super Bowl hangover and Shelly had to go in. Well, Shelly, I'm just glad you're not a football fan, so I know you're not all that sad about the game! ;) But it's boring here without you! :rolleyes1

Welcome! :goodvibes

I got the necklace on Ebay for $5.50. And pick-a pearl is around $18 I think. Isn't that terrible that I don't remember exactly and it was only a few months ago? :upsidedow Sorry, guess I'm getting old! :rotfl: I know it was under $20 though!

Nope, I'm here!! :yay: I thought for sure I would get called in this morning. I get called in almost every Monday anyway. Plus living here in Steeler Country I figured that would mean more people calling off "sick" today. :rotfl: Maybe if the game had gone the other way people would have been celebrating more. Believe it or not, we did watch the game. Well, most of it. I was switching the channels back and forth. We don't care for football all that much, but it was sad to see the Steelers lose.

After dinner at B&C we walked back over to the BW. We just hung out and relaxed for awhile. We sat on the lobby balcony for a bit and then down on the BW on a bench. Then we watched some of the performers.

I got a funnel cake with ice cream from the BW Funnel Cake stand for us all to share. The kids weren't really interested, they wanted to get something from the BW Bakery for their snack!

I also grabbed a frozen lemonade from Seashore Sweets. When I came out I could see that DS11 had made his way into another BW show. DH was waving for me to hurry over. I managed to get a few pics.

Then it was back into the BW Bakery for the kids snacks!

Total for our snacks:
Funnel Cake with ice cream and chocolate syrup: $9.25
Frozen Lemonade: can't find a receipt, but it was $3-something
Brownie & Rice Crispy treat: $7.23

When we were done on the BW we went up to the room and watched IllumiNations from the balcony one last time and packed up and went to bed.

Up Next: Our final morning

I think you ended your night right. It's nice to have a little downtime to soak up all the Disney you can before you have to dive back into reality. How fun that your son was chosen again! And your treats sure look yummy! :)

I'm wrong again! This time I had a 50-50 chance of guessing correctly and I missed that one, too. But I'm happy to see you here instead!

I bet you're right that more people would have called in if the Steelers had won. I never thought they were out of it until the last minute. It was a really exciting game. We had some people over, so I missed a lot of the game gabbing. That always seems to be the the case when you watch the game with a room full of people! And unlike last year, when the Saints were playing, we weren't all wrapped up in who was going to win, so it was more relaxed. It seems like the Steelers are always in the playoff picture, so I'm sure they will be back! Did you see how Christina Aguilera messed up the National Anthem? I missed it live, but saw it replayed on the computer. :sad2:

Your DS11 the little performer! He must have that special something that gets him picked for so many shows! That's so fun!

And in there was the pic of your DS9 charming the young ladies. :lovestruc I just love that pic since it was so unplanned.

Wow, that funnel cake looks crazy! It's like how many calories can we pile on on 9 inch plate? Looks delicious! I've never had funnel cake topped with anything other than powdered sugar. The boys' treats look yummy, too!

I love those frozen lemonades. I bet you'll be getting more of those in August - I think we had quite a few in May/June.

So sorry that your trip was nearing an end, but it sure seems like y'all had a wonderful time and some unforgettable memories! :goodvibes

Thanks Kelli! :goodvibes We don't usually do too much on the last evening. We just like to take in as much relaxing Disney atmosphere as we can before heading home to reality.

I think we over-did it on the treats that last night. :upsidedow

That's okay! I was pretty certain I was going to get called in today too. I had my clothes all ready and everything.

I must have missed that too. I don't really care for her so I wasn't paying much attention when she was singing. I'll have to go take a look. . .

Oh yes, DS11 is usually chosen for everything everywhere! Too bad it seems that his brother was getting all the attention from the ladies that night. :rotfl:

The funnel cake was good, but a little bit "too much". I think I could have done without the chocolate syrup!

Yeah, it was our last night and it just hit me that I had not had a frozen lemonade all week. So I ran into Seashore Sweets and got one, even though I really didn't need one! You are right, I'm sure we will get lots of them this summer!

Only a few more posts and the TR will be over. I have really enjoyed sharing it with all of you!

I think it is nice that you guys made your last evening a resort night, all the treats looked yummy but I agree about the chocolate sauce, I am not a big chocolate fan. Too bad both boys were not able to into the act.
I always have the need to do something our last night, be it a park or DTD... it is like I try my best to pretend the trip is not ending right up to the very end before ME pick-up.

Those tables on the beach did look pretty!

You DS has the best of luck getting picked on to perform!

That funnel cake looks so good, I didn't know that you could get it with ice-cream!

I love chocolate, but I'm not a big fan of chocolate sauce. I prefer hot fudge on my ice cream! :thumbsup2 But yes, the funnel cake, powdered sugar, ice cream, and chocolate was a bit much! :faint:

DS9 did get to pick a card from the magician's deck that night. So they were both pretty happy! :)

That was about the 3rd or 4th event we saw set up at either the BW or the BC during our stay. I kept thinking -- who can afford such a thing?!

Oh yes, you can add whatever they can find to your funnel cake. Each item adds an extra charge of course!:rotfl:

That has GOT to be the awesomest most ooey gooey plate of yumminess ever designed, sittin right there on that plate. But holy Toledo--- almost $10 for it???? If I ate that I'd end up puking and then I'd be sad I wasted the money.

But yeah--- I can imagine what it was like and say oh my gosh I would LOVE a bite of that.
Like, as in, right now. YUM.

Never had a frozen lemonade. Do you know if they come in diet??

I didnt' know about that last night's performance that your son was in. What a cutie-- he is quite the performer. And I was LMBO at the pic of your youngest chattin it up with the ladies. What a stinker.:rotfl2:

Great update--- so sad it's over. :sad1::sad1::sad1: I'm not looking forward to the sad last day leaving pics. It is always the worst most empty feeling. :guilty:

*sigh*
Oh well, pretty soon you will have another one to take it's place!! ::yes::

Have to tell you this-- last night we were watching the Superbowl and DH looks at me during halftime and says "Is Shelly and her DH a fan of the Steelers? Are they watching the game??"
:confused::eek::lmao:
It made me laugh that he asked just out of nowhere if you guys were watching.:confused3

PS.... Did you see Slash????? Be still my heart. When he came out Mark said "You knew he was gonna be in the Halftime show didn't you????", all accusatory...:rolleyes1
MC rolled her eyes and said "why do you think she wanted to see it???"

Woah! :scared1: That is ONE loaded funnel cake!!!!

Only in Disney. :thumbsup2

That thing must have weighed a couple of pounds! :rotfl:

Yep - almost $10 and I only had a few bites! :upsidedow Only on vacation can you blow your money on something like that!

IDK if the frozen lemonades come in diet or not. I kind of doubt it!

You know DS9, such a ladies man. At least that's what his teachers like to tell me! My baby.

I know, I don't even want to post the last update. It's just so sad and depressing. :sad2: But hey, just think -- you guys will be in my next TR! :thumbsup2

How funny that you guys were thinking about us during the superbowl! I was of course thinking about you when I saw Slash! And we were talking about you guys yesterday. DH asked me -- so who all are we going to meet up with this time -- besides Jodi & her family??? I think he's starting to enjoy DIS meets! :rotfl:

:rotfl: I know-- Usually I'd be like $10?!!!! I could buy a dress on clearance for that!:laughing::laughing: What in the world do they put in the water there that makes it all right in your brain???:rotfl2: I'll never know but I think I'll spend a lifetime trying to figure it out.:rolleyes1

Your boys- one's gonna be a stand up comedian, the other a life long Bachelor.:rotfl2:

OMG-- I can't believe you guys were talking about us yesterday--- so funny both the men are talking about each other like they know one another already!!!:upsidedow
Um, that could be a bad thing.
:rotfl2:

And yes--- your next TR will have all of us in it.
IF, that is, airfare doesn't get the best of us.

:headache:
