I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

No no - she just :rolleyes1"played along with the charade":rolleyes1 (<-- best I could do for music notes)

She was trying to be a good girl on good behavior so she could get a gold star for the day. :snooty:

We know her better than she thinks we do....
But you didn't hear it from me.
:rolleyes1

Well it was a JoBird of course!!

Glad you enjoyed the update. We had a nice time, even though the food wasn't fabulous. And I got to wear my HFT shoes!! (Good thing I didn't have too far to walk!)

I don't know why it is so hard to cook a steak "well done"!! :sad2: That should mean no pink, right? How hard is that?

Dr Drake coming right up! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

 At least it wasn't a Do-Do Bird. :lmao:

I think that chefs don't want to cook steak well done b/c they think it ruins their masterpiece.
At least that's what the knowitall chef told me once where I waitressed.

Like they know what we like better than ourselves.

Jack a44. ;)

(I'd say it if I could.;):rotfl:)

You look so pretty in that dress! I hate your meal didn't go well, but at least you had the concert to look forward to! I can't wait for that update - I still listen to Jesse's Girl. :rolleyes1

Thank you! :goodvibes Yeah, the meal wasn't great, but we had a nice time and an awesome concert to look forward too!

We blast the radio whenever Jessie's Girl comes on! :cool1:

Hey now, I resent that! I was very quiet today! :rotfl2: In fact, I was actually taking down names of the shenaniganners.

Yay for having a day off tomorrow! :cheer2: You are just too efficient! :thumbsup2 But maybe you should turn your cell phone off tonight, or you just may get that 6:00 a.m. call. ;) If you do, tell them you have a TR update to do and Rick Springfield can't wait.

Well if you continue to behave maybe you can earn yourself a babysitting job!!

Yeah, I'm thinking my phone may not be on in the morning. . .:rolleyes1

You deserve a day off and we want to hear and see Rick Springfield!

More snow for here tomorrow so I am sure by later tonight schools here will be closed. The town we use to live in when my kids were small have not had school since January 11th :scared1: the hills are just too bad and the buses can not do the routes, they are talking of cancelling the spring vacation now.

Sorry but Jo and company are just too much fun to hang with on here, I had to join their ranks

No worries about football , that is one sport I do not do at all

You're right, I do deserve a day off! ::yes:: :rotfl:

We are to get a bunch of snow tonight and tomorrow too. But I'm sure we won't cancel school! If we are super lucky we might get a 2 hour delay. But that's even unlikely.

So you gave into peer pressure, is that what you are saying? :lmao:

Yay for no work tomorrow!!:cool1:

Now, however will I finish cleaning????????????:lmao:

Woohoo!! :woohoo:

No cleaning for you tomorrow!

Thanks Lisa! :)

Yeah, I'm not sure you would like Kouzzina all that much. :scared:

Rick Springfield coming up next! :thumbsup2

It couldn't be because I am long-winded, could it?:lmao:

Well it was a JoBird of course!!

That is not what I meant at all!! But you know the saying, "It takes one to know one!"

Hope you get the day off tommorow! I've barely worked all week, we were away Monday and I work from home on Wed. Today I had to go to my Grandmothers funeral, she passed away on Monday. She was not doing well, so it was a blessing, but today was very hard. Thanks all for taking my mind off it!

I've been working on my Signature, trying to get my countdown right. We added the Disney Dream to our next trip!!!! SO excited!

WOW!! :cool1: Congrats on your cruise! We are planning to cruise in 2013 for the first time. Can't wait!

Love your new tickers! :thumbsup2

Who's ready for some Rick Springfield??? :cool1:

When we got to Epcot we headed right to the American Gardens Theater. The concerts were at 5:15, 6:30, and 7:45. We were going for the 7:45 show. As we got there the 6:30 show was just letting out. We walked right into the theater and thought – wow this is too good to be true. And it was. :upsidedow Just then we noticed the queue and line off to the right of the theater for the 7:45 show. The people we lined up along the water and the line was huge. They were kicking people out of the theater at that point who had lingered after the 6:30 show. We thought we had better get out of there before we get in trouble! As we turned to leave one of the guys who was cleaning up the stage walked up to DS9 and handed him a Rick Springfield guitar pick! He was thrilled! So was I, between that and the lollipop he was sure to be entertained in that long line while we waited.

So we get out of there and go get in line. We walk and walk and walk further into WS, until finally – the end of the line! Which was right about here, next to this bridge ~

We stood there for a little bit and debated leaving. We were sure for as far back as we were that the theater would be filled up long before we got there. Luckily we didn't leave! Pretty soon the line started moving, slowly but surely. As we got closer we saw that we were definitely going to get a seat. And probably only about half way back! There was this woman in line in front of us who was VERY excited to see Rick Springfield. :hyper: She was going on and on and on about him to her friend. About how when she woke up this morning she said to herself -- this is the day, the day I get to see Rick! It was quite comical. DH and I kept laughing the whole way through the line and joked that Rick just might have himself a stalker.:rotfl:

When we got in the theater there were seats a little closer up, but we opted for a front row end on the second section back. That way there was a gap between our row and the section in front of us. More room to breathe! Plus this was the kids first 'rock concert' and we didn't know how wild things/people might get, and wanted to make sure we could make an easy escape if need be.

We were a little ways back, but we could still see fairly well.

As we waited DS9 was asking what songs he would sing and we were trying to think of all the Rick Springfield songs we could. We aren't huge Rick Springfield fans or anything, but having grown up in the 80's I did like his music. And I always have 80's music on at home, so the kids know his songs well!

The concert was part of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series for the F&WF. There were many singers there during the F&WF, with Rick Springfield being the only one we were interested in seeing and he just happened to be there on a day we were going to be at Epcot anyway!! He had been there the previous night and did 3 shows and this was his third/last show tonight.

Just as DS9 asked if he was going to sing I've Done Everything For You, he came out singing it!!

He even came out into the audience and came right by us!

This woman was very excited to see him!

What a fun time!!

Here is a small video I took. It is very shaky. I'm sorry but it was hard to stand still! And I was trying to tape the kids dancing but it didn't work out too well because it was too dark.

There are better ones on YouTube.

This is the little boy he pulled from the audience during our show. We really couldn't see too much of it, but we of course heard all this. I found it on youtube.

Up Next: Day 7 – Friday November 12 – DHS and DTD

What a perfectly perfect night! The whole day and then leading into the night (minus the funky not cooked right steak) but then the whole concert and ending with Illuminations...............:cloud9:

Perfect.

How special that your son got the guitar pick! I bet he is a Rick Springfield fan now.
The boys looked like they were having the time of their lives, dancing and having such a great time. How fun.

And that stalker chic---:rotfl: so funny. Some of those crazy 80's chics are a bit looney.

(On a side note- are you watching Idol now that Steven Tyler is on it? Can I just say he is lookin gooooood to be a day older than dirt???:lovestruc No, no, I'm not a stalker at all......:rolleyes1 )

I think I'm gonna go download Jessie's Girl onto my Ipod so that I can sing it to the top of my lungs while I clean.

Um, okay, not clean.
um..... sit and DIS??????:surfweb:

::yes::

Your Days on your TR are headed to a close..... I'm so sad.:sad1:

Cyndi--
I am so very sorry for your loss. It is so hard to let go of those we love and hold so dearly to our hearts.
Your family is in my prayers.

It looks like you guys had a great night! I love Illuminations, It might be my favorite over Wishes.
Well, we have another snow day here...we are supposed to get about 10 inches today! The kids are thrilled to have a snow day, and I am happy to have the day off! Have a great weekend!

I forgot how much I loved Rick Springfield! He was and still is ever soooooo dreamy! I watched the video and I felt like a teenager again.
I am sure that you were glad that you decided to wait in the line so you could see the concert.

What a way to end your Epcot day.....a Rick Springfield concert and Illuminations! I can think of nothing better.

Jo: I'm watching Steven Tyler on American Idol and he is looking good!
