I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

Wow that castle is pretty! I love the passports you made they are very creative! and I have to agree with Mission: Space, I did it once, orange unfortunately, and I will never do it again!!! I was feeling so sick after! Love seeing the WS pics, and the genie pick is so cute, keep 'em coming and have a good weekend!! :)

Welcome! :goodvibes I'm glad you're here!

Congrats on the May trip to WDW & CBR! :cool1: We will be back at CBR at the end of August!

I hope your family has a very fun evening on the BW. Where are you eating?

We are going to try the Flying Fish, our ADR is 7:30pm. Did you notice if the entertainers were out on a regular basis, or was it random?

How great that you get to enter Epcot from the back like that. Soarin and Test Track our Family Favorites! This trip we want to spend a little time in the Countries - those Passports are awesome !

I have that Epcot pic you sent me saved on my phone. :goodvibes It was a great picture and that was the day I was shopping and got so excited when you sent it.

The blinged out castle---- whoa. I had seen pics of it before and knew the price already-- I'd love to have a few lying around to give as bday presents.:rotfl2:

The pic of the boys in the sombrero is adorable-- the one of them with the Genie is cute too but he looks a little sketchy. Too blue for my taste in men. :snooty:

LOVE the passports you made! It is fun to have the kids do so it gets them interested in the other countries.
You did such a good job on them. I usually just buy them for the kids-- not crafty you know.:upsidedow

Interested to see what you get at the caramel shop later in the report. yum.

Great report of my favorite place..... I even turned on the music from Mexico while i read it to make it a little more real.

yes I am a nerd.

:rolleyes1

Shelly, would you mind picking me up a couple of those castles when you go in August?

If I could afford that, then I could afford to charter a private jet, fly down there, buy them myself, and fly back home!

Who in the world buys stuff that expensive? I would love to see for myself!

I'm loving your Epcot update! :thumbsup2 I really like WS, probably because it's the closest I'll ever get to leaving the USA! The boys seem to really like getting their passports stamped and signed. That was such a great idea and job on the passports!

I did the green version of MS, but I don't think I would do it again either. Mainly because it's claustrophobic, not because it made me sick (which the orange version probably would have).

Sure, I'll pick you up a few! Anyone else need a $37.500 castle for their curio cabinet???

Oh my! :faint:

I know, WS is the closest I will get to leaving the US for awhile. So I try to take it all in!

I did the green version of MS once and that was enough for me. It isn't bad and doesn't spin, but once that door shut I thought I was going to pass out. :sad2: Never again!

Great update! I love World Showcase...it is one of my favorite parts of WDW! We love exploring all of the countries.
Hope you are having a nice weekend!!!:goodvibes

Thanks Lauren! :goodvibes We really enjoyed taking our time through WS this time. ::yes::

Loved reading and seeing all the pics in your epcot ws update. WS has been my favorite place since first time I visited WDW, I love MK too but there is just something so very wonderful about meandering around the countries especially at night. I can not wait to go to that caramel shop in Germany.

I was making a list of the restaurants in WS earlier , it is going to be so very hard to pick and choose.

The passports look great...you know I kept reading about the kidcot and wondered what it was...you see the first year we went in '89 was the year DS:littleangel: did the passport (he was 9, like your DS) but back then you just went up to the cashier and she stamped and wrote in your book, nice they now have a separate station for it.

OMG @ the price of the Castle :scared1:

Glad you enjoyed the update Sheila. :)

The German caramel shop is wonderful. We will definitely be going back in there!!

As you know we are not the most adventurous eaters, so we haven't done too many WS ADR's. I hope to try a new one next time! What have you narrowed your list down to?

The Kidcot stops are fun! But some of them are so tucked away they can be hard to find. :upsidedow

That castle is beautiful! :cloud9:

I couldn't even imagine the orange version of MS. :sad2: You are very brave!

More WS to come soon!

Flying Fish sounds good. Never been there.

I believe the entertainers are out every night from about 5-10pm!

Soarin and Test Track are our family favorites too! :goodvibes

Nerd!

Sketchy Genie :lmao: Our meeting was very brief. Literally seconds. So I couldn't tell you if he was sketchy or not. :rotfl:

I wish you had a few of those castles laying around for b-day gifts too. My b-day is coming up in you know. . . :rolleyes1:rotfl:

You should make the passports for the kids for this trip!! ::yes:: Or I could do it for you if you want!

The caramel shop report will be coming up. :lovestruc You have to go in there this summer!! :thumbsup2

Aww, if I had a blingy castle to send you for your bday I would. Maybe one day when we hit the lottery...:thumbsup2 Of course that "one day" isn't looking too good since we don't play the lottery.:lmao:

I need to ask the kids if they are doing the passports this trip. Not sure Drew will do it or not---- we'll see.

popcorn::
Waiting patiently on this dreary winter day with no sun to read more about your trip....
where the heck are you????:teacher:

Good Morning!

Yes I am waiting too for that next update.....Shellyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I don't have the patience for the Passport making - we have bought them in the past, however last trip we didn't make it all the way around WS... the pool won out and I am glad we did that! :goodvibes
However this trip most of our Dinners are in epcot, so we'll tour WS at night...
We're trying alot of new restaurants this trip Biergarten and Rose N Crown... hope we like them. I don't think I'll like the food at Biergarten... but the ommmpahh band looks like fun! :woohoo:

Anyhow... I am excited for this trip... so need some fuel for the excitement... where's an update :thumbsup2

:lmao:

Let me know if you need help with the passports, if the kids decide to do them.

I'm here! :yay: No school for us today. The kids and I are just having a lazy morning!

Good Morning!

I'm glad we did the passports this trip, I just don't see us making the whole WS trek in August, :faint: I'm sure pool time will win out! :thumbsup2

I'm so excited for you!! :woohoo: 4 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!

You definitely have more talent than I do. Those passports are the neatest thing. If we do the passports, I just buy them.:upsidedow

Wowza! The price of that castle is something else! We saw a blown glass castle in the Magic Kingdom that was outrageously priced. I wonderful how many they actually sell?

Good morning TR friends

No school for us today, we are off for Martin Luther King Jr Day. I took a subbing job the rest of the week though, so the updates might be slow this week.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was good. Well, as good as a January weekend in PA can be. :rotfl: DS9 had a soccer game Saturday morning and they won 8-1! :cool1: Other than that we just hung around home and dreamed of being warm in Florida this summer! :cloud9:

Up next on our WS tour was the train display. We stopped and browsed for a little bit.

Next up was Japan. Which I thought might be a short trip since we had already been there on Monday. But nope, we were there for quite some time again!

First stop was the Kaki Gori stand. I have always heard how great these are. Unfortunately I just thought they were okay. I got strawberry. DS11 got cherry. And DS9 got rainbow. DS11 didn't like his at all and gave it to DH. Total for 3: $10.48

Then we were right back to the Pokemon stuff! The kids of course made some more purchases.

We had completed our WS journey. And the kids got every page of their passport stamped and signed!

After that long journey DS9 was thirsty, so we headed to Club Cool. He likes all those nasty pops!

Next we decided to head back to the BWI and get some rest before dinner and our big Rick Springfield concert that evening!!

We passed this lovely lady on our way out.

Up Next: Where would we have dinner?

Holy crow you didn't love the Kaki Gori.:lmao: I should've known, since I looooooooove it.:rotfl2: You got the strawberry which is my favorite. I like them on hot days-- in fact the kids were talking about them the other day and how we will probably eat a ton of them in Sept. Nothing like good ole corn syrup to get them wound up.:dance3:

And oh wow- your crowds were heavy there that day! What date was that? I'm surprised at how crowded it was.

Club cool-- we've never been. If your son likes those drinks I'm sure Belle will love them. Guess it's going on the list!!

The pics with Tigger were so cute-- and yay for the boys getting their passports completed!!

I forgot that when we go it's gonna be 198 degrees and running from kidcot to kidcot is not gonna be that much fun.:scared:
I'm making the kids sign a contract that says if they whine and complain b/c of the heat that when they get home they're taking turns on pooper scooper duty for months since that's when they wanted to go.

:rolleyes1

Great update!! I can't wait to see where dinner is.popcorn::
;)

I've eaten at both Rose & Crown and Biergarten - they're great. There's enough selection at Biergarten that you should be able to find something you like. And the Oompah band is definitely a lot of fun. Hoepfully you get a fun gang at your table - we did and it made our night!

Shelly - the pics of the train village remind me of this place my grandmother used to take me to when I was younger. It's not there anymore, but it was called Cullen's Garden's Miniature Village. It was this beautiful garden with a miniature village mixed throughout, with a circus and a fair, and even peacocks! When I was 3, my photo was taken in the tulip beds, and it wound up being the cover of the 1987 Whitby Phone Book (sorry - no pic).

Awesome plan - love it!! :lmao:

Congratulations to DS9 on his big soccer win! He must have a really good team this year! :thumbsup2

I was going to say the same thing as Jo about the Kaki Gori - don't write them off completely! They may taste completely heavenly in August. But if not you can always put a little on your neck. Just kidding you, I think you will be able to handle the heat very well. :sunny:

In your first pics of your day at Epcot, I was thinking how lucky you were that it was so empty. But then I scrolled down and saw "Crowd Picture" and boy, was I wrong! I'm glad the boys were able to fill up their passports in spite of the crowds.

I think the family pic with Pooh and Tigger is my favorite one yet! That's a framer! :thumbsup2

I am with you -- who buys that stuff? I guess someone must, but no one I know!

I know, I didn't love the Kaki Gori. :confused3 It was just okay. I don't think we will ever go back.

That was Thursday the 11th. It wasn't crowded at all in the morning. And the only places that had lines were the F&WF booths. :faint: People everywhere!! We will definitely avoid F&WF in the future.

You've never been in Club Cool??? :scared1: You've got to get in there. All the nasty drinks you want for free. Be sure to try the Beverly. :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

198 degrees :rotfl2: That's probably pretty close to being true I suppose. :scared: I don't know how we are going to do it!!! I am counting on the crowds to be very super low to make up for the intense heat. ::yes::

Pooper scooper duty :lmao: Great idea. I already know my boys are going to be whiny about the heat - all 3 of them.:rotfl:

The kids used to really be into trains. They were obsessed with them for awhile. We even traveled to the other side of PA to go to the Strasburg Railroad Station and take a train ride, go to this huge miniature train display, go to a train museum, and to go the official Thomas the Tank Engine Store. :upsidedow

That is so cool you were on the cover of a magazine! :goodvibes

Congratulations to DS9 on his big soccer win! He must have a really good team this year! :thumbsup2

Thanks Teri! :)

For some reason I don't even think the Kaki Gori would be all that good in the summer heat. :confused3

Yeah, Epcot was only crowded in World Showcase. And all the time. That F&WF really attracts the people.

I like the Tigger & Pooh pics too. Maybe because that is one of the very few character pics we got this trip! :rotfl:

Great pictures and report today Shelly. Love the model train ones.

Club Cool is a fun place to hang out - I can't believe you haven't been there yet Jo - oh and to make you even more nerdy today here is some more Mexican music with Mickey & Minnie dancing for you that I filmed yesterday:

http://www.youtube.com/tommyflixhd#p/a/u/0/JAFmCAUhdVw

That Cinderella Castle collectible is over the top - don't think I would get one even if I did win the lottery. LOL!

Epcot Rocks! More, more more!!!

Sea :cool1:
