I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

We toast ours in the oven on a baking sheet :confused3

Is it as good that way? Does the banana get mushy?
Great updates! I am all caught up!
So far an excellent day at EPCOT! :thumbsup2

I am curious to hear about Electric Umbrella as well.

You are so close to being there!! :cool1:

I'm afraid I only took a few pics in Electric Umbrella, so the review won't be as extensive as most. And like I told Kim, the food is just okay.

How lucky to find those Fastpasses!!! I wonder if a nice CM hooked you up? :goodvibes

We've never done rope drop at Epcot either. The only rope drop we've ever made it to is MK. It's hard for us to get up and moving that early on vacation!

Wow. I can't believe people would do that with their FP's! But, it worked out in your favor, so that's awesome.

I know what it's like to hold onto multiple FP's. :goodvibes It's the best feeling. Hmm...how many did I have on my Epcot day? I think 2 sets for Soarin' and 1 for TT!!!! That was the best day ever....until we came to the next day!!

Love the update! Epcot is one of my favourite parks and to have it be so empty is awesome! I haven't been to a rope drop yet either, although I have only been to the world twice so it isn't so bad! Definitely will get to at least one in in August. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Finally caught back up! I love the photopass pics. I love that you found those FP for Test Track! What a great start to the day.

Can't wait to read more about your Epcot day.

The Tonga Toast tasted the same as WDW, actually better. I'll ask Dh how he made it, maybe he was joking :rotfl:. Sorry he's the chef in our house.

I think our CS meals will be at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot, we've eaten there before, and I want to try the Strawberry Shortcake

I have a question about CBR? What is the best beach to watch the fireworks from? :goodvibes

We're off shopping again tonight! and it will be a whirlwind weekend of packing.... my suitcases are still in the basement :scared1:

WHAT?? THE BASEMENT??? We've been throwing things in there for WEEKS! :rotfl:

I know... this is so unlike me... I do have a bunch of totes I have been throwing things into.
I did go through my toiletries tonight and only have a few things to pick up :thumbsup2

I don't know, I'd like to think so! :goodvibes

I know, we like to sleep in on vacation too! :cloud9: But considering what time we get up for work/school sleeping until 7:45 that morning was sleeping in!

Wow. I can't believe people would do that with their FP's! But, it worked out in your favor, so that's awesome.

Thanks! :goodvibes

You'll have to get to the parks at RD in August to beat the heat!! ::yes::

Thanks! :) I'm glad you're all caught up.

More Epcot coming up soon!

I'll have to try baking the Tonga Toast. It doesn't sound near as fattening that way! :rotfl:

The Strawberry Shortcake is the only thing I liked at Sunshine Seasons the one time we ate there!

You can see IllumiNations from just about all the CBR beaches, if not all. I know we have watched them from Jamaica and Aruba. We also saw them from the bridge and OPR. And I have heard people say you can see them from Martinique.

Have fun shopping! :cool1:

I am so jealous that you ladies are going to Disney so soon!!!!

Get packing!! :yay:

After our 2 rides on TT the boys all wanted to ride Mission Space. I don't do Mission Space after my last experience on it. So I found a nice sunny spot and took a break.

I took this picture while waiting and sent it and a text to Jodi (JoBird) and told her what a nice night we had the night before on the BW and what a fun day we were having today!

The MS wait time said 20 minutes, but it was more like 40. They were gone forever! It was after 11:00 now and I was getting hungry. Finally they came out. They were hungry too. The closest place was the Electric Umbrella. We have been there before and it is okay, so we pretty much knew what to expect.

DH got a Meatball Sub and fries. DS11 got a kids burger with fries and grapes. And DS9 and I shared an adult Chicken Nugget basket with fries. The food was all okay, nothing great. We like to sit upstairs when we eat here and look out over Epcot. But the upstairs was roped off today for some reason, so we had to sit downstairs. I didn't take too many pictures.

After lunch we were ready to start our trek around World Showcase. We wanted to take our time and enjoy all the sights this time! Before our trip I had made the kids these Epcot Passports.

As we headed for WS we saw this guy with no one waiting to see him so the kids ran over for a quick pic!

Then we were on our way to Mexico! But not before running through these things first.

Pretty soon we were in Mexico and found the Kidcot Stop right away.

Took a ride on the Gran Fiesta Tour with no wait! (Is there ever a wait here?)

We browsed the little shops and the kids stopped for their traditional picture with the sombreros!

Then we were off to Norway!

DS9 didn't want to ride Maelstrom. :confused3 He said he doesn't like when it goes backwards and the drop. So DS11 & I went by ourselves. Then they got their books stamped!

Next up was China. I wanted to see the film here, but the previous one had just started and no one else wanted to wait. And I didn't know how well I would like the circle-vision, so we decided to just look around the get the kids books stamped.

Then we were on to Germany. We went into the new caramel store there, but we didn't buy anything. I don't remember why. (Don't worry, we went back later in the week and I will give a full report!)

YOU MADE THOSE PASSPORTS???????

They look so professional! WOW!
:worship:

I am so worried that I won't have enough Epcot time! Happens every trip. I love to take my time at WS. Plus this trip there will be the Flower and Garden festival - so MORE to look at. I'm trying to work in another day, but it's not looking good. I have one partial day to "play" with. DH originally said AK, and now Sarah's making comments about DHS (not that she knows anything, just talking about what she loves). We were going to have to skip DHS, but now - who knows? Don't want to add park hoppers either, so that doesn't help. Grrr.
What to do.
Sorry to hijack. Epcot got me all :hyper::Pinkbounc

Those are some awesome pictures. Do you happen to know the prices for the Mickey and Cinderella Castle when you went to Germany? The photo is after the caramel store. That is a beautiful model of the castle, and when we go, in November, I would like to purchase it, but just would like to know the price of it..Thanks for sharing your pictures and it looks like you all had a blast.

Yep, I made them!

I got the designs here on the DIS and then I put them together, added the boys names to the inside cover, got the front and back cover laminated, put in a hole punch and put in a ring binder thingy!

I know, it's hard to squeeze everything in no matter how long you are there! :upsidedow I'm sure you'll get it all worked out. :goodvibes

You can hijack anytime you want! ::yes::

Very expensive!! :faint: I remember commenting on that specifically! I can't remember exactly how much. I am going to go back and try to edit that pic and find out. Be right back. . .

Okay, I enlarged and cropped on photobucket and it still looks blurry to me, but maybe once I post them here they will come out better. . .

$37,500 for the Castle! :scared1:

:faint:

Shelly, would you mind picking me up a couple of those castles when you go in August?

If I could afford that, then I could afford to charter a private jet, fly down there, buy them myself, and fly back home!

Who in the world buys stuff that expensive? I would love to see for myself!

I'm loving your Epcot update! :thumbsup2 I really like WS, probably because it's the closest I'll ever get to leaving the USA! The boys seem to really like getting their passports stamped and signed. That was such a great idea and job on the passports!

I did the green version of MS, but I don't think I would do it again either. Mainly because it's claustrophobic, not because it made me sick (which the orange version probably would have).

Great update! I love World Showcase...it is one of my favorite parts of WDW! We love exploring all of the countries.
Hope you are having a nice weekend!!!:goodvibes

Loved reading and seeing all the pics in your epcot ws update. WS has been my favorite place since first time I visited WDW, I love MK too but there is just something so very wonderful about meandering around the countries especially at night. I can not wait to go to that caramel shop in Germany.

I was making a list of the restaurants in WS earlier , it is going to be so very hard to pick and choose.

The passports look great...you know I kept reading about the kidcot and wondered what it was...you see the first year we went in '89 was the year DS:littleangel: did the passport (he was 9, like your DS) but back then you just went up to the cashier and she stamped and wrote in your book, nice they now have a separate station for it.

OMG @ the price of the Castle :scared1:
