I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

Good morning everyone! :goodvibes I hope you all had a nice weekend. We didn't do much. DH had to work most of the weekend. DS9 started indoor soccer Saturday. He has never done indoor soccer before. He always does outdoor in the spring (April & May) and fall (Sept & Oct). So this was a little different experience for him. The game moves much faster with no real out-of-bounds and the ball is harder to control on the floor than it is on the grass outside. But he loved it and his team seems to be very good. They won 9-3! :cheer2:

That was about the excitement of our weekend! That and talking about Disney Dining!! I get to make our ADR's sometime next month! :yay:

It's pretty cold here. Nine degrees when I put the kids on the bus a little bit ago. I can't believe it's Monday and I didn't get called in to substitute! Mondays & Fridays are usually a given. Oh well, I will enjoy my day off and get some things done around the house and get this TR updated!

Dole Whip update coming right up! :cool1:

After our spin on Space Mtn we were ready for an afternoon snack. So off to Aloha Isle we went! I just love LOVE love Dole Whip Floats. :cloud9: The rest of the family not so much. :confused3

I took a few pics when we passed the castle on our way to Adventureland.

And pretty soon we had arrived at my favorite place! :goodvibes

The lines were long here. They always are. DH and I got in line and the kids went over and grabbed us a seat. I got a Dole Whip Float of course! And him and DS11 just got vanilla dole whip in a cup. DS9 was still working on his sour patch gummies. So we all sat and enjoyed our treats. This is the only place I don't have a receipt for, their register was out of tape. I believe our bill was around $12.

After we were done we decided to call it a day and head back to the resort. Apparently it was close to the 3:00 parade because main street was lined with people. We really had no interest in seeing the parade. We've seen it before and you know how my kids feel about parades anyway!

So we stopped for some photopass pics on the way out.

Then we decided to check out a few shops.

Up Next: More photopass pictures and the parade
(continued in next post)

By now the parade was about to start. We should have just got out of there, but I wanted to sneak into the middle section there at Town Square for some photopass pictures. They let us in and there was no line! Our photopass photographer was less than enthusiastic, but she got the job done.

Since there wasn't anyone waiting behind us I had the boys pose by themselves and I took this picture. The photopass photographer didn't take any. :confused3

Well now we were trapped until the parade was over. So we pretty much had a front row spot by accident!

I turned around and said goodbye to MK until next time!

And soon enough we were on a bus back to the BWI.

Up Next: A BWI tour and BW Pizza for dinner!

That dole whip sure does look good!!!!!!!
I love the family pictures between the toy soldiers!

And A Good Morning to One and All-

The weekend draged by since we were more or less snowed in from the two back to back storms we had, the frist one dumped a good 12-14 inches and then the next one a mere 2 or 3 but it is quite an impressive amount out there.

Put it this way my dog Bella loves snow and she was not happy it was up to her mid back , she dug herself a path and has been using that for her business

No idea how cold it was here earlier but just looked and it is 21 now at 8:30, brrrrrrrrrrrrrr to 9 degrees

Those dole whips look so very good if I get the time and I should since we will be staying so close to MK and Poly I will try both types. Just think Shelly you will be able to get dole whips whenever you want while staying at the Poly:goodvibes

I started to plan a bit in anticipation of making our ADR's but I stopped when DH said he wants to try the Japanese Restaurant in Epcot, the one in Morrocco is his other choice so far but I think I will schedule them on the two days we will be there for F&W that way if I do not like the food I will be able to grab a few items at the F&W Kiosks-I am scared :scared1: of how busy the opening days will be after seeing your pics from this past November. Oh well unless I get lucky with getting a 40% off pin our dates are what they are.

I love the pics you were able to get from the photopass people of the entire family, I wish we had done that in the past I am the photographer so there are few pics with me in them.

Trying to get through the crowds to go somewhere at parade times is DH's pet peeve, if we are there by accident when not planning on seeing the parade it never fails , a CM always upsets him by doing a go this way or that way, which is always the oposite way from which he wants to go :rotfl: which just gets under his skin for some reason :rolleyes1

I know, I was just sitting here thinking that I sure could go for a Dole Whip right now!

Good morning Sheila! I didn't realize you were getting so much snow. It's snowing here. Again. But nothing major so far. I hate when it gets so deep that the dog can't walk in it!

I know, Dole Whips at my leisure at the Poly. :lovestruc

I was trying to do a bit of planning this weekend too. At least trying to figure out what ADR's we wanted. We have 5 nights of free dining, so I want to take advantage of that and hit the most expensive places during the first part of the trip!!

I hope the F&WF lines aren't huge for you like we saw.

The photopass is a great thing! We usually get it about every other trip. It's fun when you get an enthusiastic photographer and s/he has you do fun poses and stuff. We did encounter a few of them this trip, but not like in the past. A lot of them seemed pretty grumpy this year. Almost like we were bothering them. :confused3 I think that would be a fantastic job! But then you know how I love to take pictures! :goodvibes

Yes, those CM's can get quite bossy when directing traffic for the parades! :scared:

I am glad you saw the parade by accident... everybody should love a parade... I am one of those people that will watch them more than once each trip :lovestruc... they give me the warm fuzzies!

Good Morning!
it was great to have a post to read first thing in the morning and that Dole Whip sure looks good can't wait to try a float! I love the family photos they look great!
Can't wait to hear about the BWI! Anyways enjoy your day off I have to head to the doctors, and get some blood taken... *sigh* ah well :rolleyes2

I would love to see every parade :lovestruc, it's the rest of the family that drags me down!!

Glad you enjoyed the update! :goodvibes You've got to try a Dole Whip float! ::yes::

Lots more BWI to come!

Good luck at the doctors, I hope it's nothing serious.

I looove a dole whip.
A dole whip float is even better, but having a dole whip with a bud is the best EVER.

Oh wait, I'm living in the future........;)

Your float looks so good- I tend to like them when they are a bit melty. I'm the only person I know of that microwaves their ice cream.

What can I say, I even microwave my PB.

You got some good pictures of ther fam together. IDK about photopass photographers.:confused3 Some are good, some are not. But you did end up with some cute ones.

And a parade.......:lovestruc Love a parade. I get giddy when I know one is about.:rotfl: Glad you were able to see it, even if you didn't necessarily want to see it.:rolleyes1

Yay for a great update getting me in the mood to wait an agonizingly long 7+ months.

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

Every year, I vow to have a Dole Whip and haven't done it yet. Every time I see a picture it makes me want to try one even more.

Yay for getting to see the parade without having to sit and wait. You must have had a good spot because your pictures are great.

Oh no! Are we back on the warm pb thing? You know how I feel about that! :scared1:

Yeah, the photopass CM got the job done, but sure could have been nicer about it! I haven't decided if I want to get the photopass this trip or not. Have you?

The parade was good. It was pretty short, so I only had to listen to DS11 whine about it for a short time. :rotfl: DS9 actually enjoyed it!

I know, time is going slow since I booked my trip. :upsidedow 7+ months is a long time, but we'll get there. Eventually!

What? You still haven't had one? You better get your behind to Aloha Isle as soon as you get to MK next time!!

We were right in that middle section in front of the train station. It was a good spot. And nice because we could take off as soon as it was done!

ME TOO!! I'm definately having my first one in 13 days!!!!!

And Shelly, I had a toasted PB&J for lunch today! :rotfl:

Isn't it illegal to talk about warm PB :scared1: on Shelly's thread?
Even though I love it!!!
Dole Whip float.. Yummmmm...

Toasted PB&J :eek::eek::eek:

I am so jealous that you are getting a Dole Whip in just 13 days!!!! :goodvibes

Dole Whip float.. Yummmmm...

Well I thought so! ::yes:: But apparently some people can't seem to follow the rules!!

I am definitely having more than one Dole Whip on the next trip! :thumbsup2

The Dole Whips do look very good, but I would probably go with the Vanilla Dole Whip in the cup. Is the only difference the liquid poured over? And exactly what is that yellow liquid?

Too funny about the warm PB! I have made toast and spread PB over it, so I guess that qualifies as warm PB. As for microwaving ice cream.......wouldn't that be called milk? ;) Sorry, Jo, I'm just being difficult. You see, I've got a lot on my mind, like tracking Michigan jets and such.

Shelly, you've got some great Photopass pics of your family. :thumbsup2 I guess it was worth getting trapped and forced to watch the parade with front row seats!

What was that Mickey head your DS11 was holding in the pic? Was that peanut brittle or maybe Rice Krispies treat? And then the pic below, with the Mickey that looked half chocolate and half something else. Talk about sugar overload! I love peanut brittle, but I love having teeth even more, so I never eat it. ;)

I think the Dole Whip float has GOT to be the BEST snack in MK. Hands-down! Yum. I didn't get to have on during my Sept trip and I was so bummed out.

My kiddos aren't big parade people either. We actually have never sat down to watch one. Is that against the Disney rules? ;) Yikes!

What is up with less than thrilled CMs? Do they forget they are working at the Happiest Place on Earth? Uh, hello???

Great update Shelly! :) I love your writing style!

I hang my head in shame. :sad1:

Please forgive my mentioning the unmentionable that I mentioned in the previously mentioned post.

:rolleyes1

Teri-------- do they have grass in Michigan that could be found to eat under all that snow? Perhaps you have nothing to fear.............;)

Shelly-------- um what did we decide to do about the Photopass? I don't remember? I think we decided that since we would be sweaty.... er... glistening ::yes:: from the sweat.... er.... water droplets ::yes:: on our upper lip and about our heads we would refrain from having our picture taken for posterity's sake.

yes, I admit it--- I am on a caffeine high.

One migraine
+ two excedrins
+ a diet Dr Pepper
= watch out, Jo's on the loose.

Haaaaaaaay.

The actual Dole Whip comes in vanilla or pineapple. The float has pineapple Dole Whip and pineapple juice. It sounds like a lot of pineapple, but it is so good! :cloud9:

Yes, toast with PB is considered warm PB if it got melty. Gross!!

I had to go back and look at the pics. Those are giant mickey head rice crispy treats! :goodvibes

I like peanut brittle too, but it hurts my teeth so I rarely have it.

Great update Shelly! :) I love your writing style!

I know, I never get to try any other snacks at MK because I always get a Dole Whip float!!

If my kids had their way we would never see a parade either. :confused3

I don't know what was up with some of the photopass CM's. There was even one guy at Epcot that was just standing there and I asked him politely if he was taking pictures and he said yes and acted all put out. He snapped off a few pics in about 10 seconds and handed us back our card. And no one was waiting! DH and I just looked at each other and laughed as we walked away and DH said -- boy, I hope we didn't make him work too hard today. :rotfl:

I think photopass would be one of the best jobs! :goodvibes

Glad you enjoyed the update! :)

You better keep that unmentionable unmentioned. :rotfl:

I remember discussing the photopass and wondering if it would be worth it when it is so stinking hot and we might not want our picture taken. I couldn't remember if we came to a definite decision or not. Yeah, IDK. I like to have the family pics, but I know we will all be *glistening* and grumpy!

Watch out -- JO's been into the Excedrin & Dr. Pepper!!!!!!!!! :scared1:
