I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

We'd eaten at Cape May for breakfast last summer, but not dinner.

As much as I love chocolate, that dessert might be too much, even for me! It looked so rich!

Wish I had Cape May for dinner tonight! It's after 5 and we still don't know what we're having!!! Nice planning, eh?

I can't believe you're up to your last day already! :sad2:

That panini was just pathetic :confused3

Looks like Cape May made up for your lacking lunch. :goodvibes YUM!

7 Months from today we will be heading to Disney!!!!! :cool1:

party: :dance3::woohoo::banana:
Happy less than 7 months!!!!

Here's the information on Lego Rehab that I found on allears:

LEGO Imagination Center at Downtown Disney Marketplace is preparing for an extensive renovation project that will increase its overall footprint by nearly 3,500 square-feet and add new LEGO exterior models of favorite Disney characters. Construction walls will go up around the area starting January 29, 2011. During the project, LEGO Imagination Center will operate in a temporary "pop-up" location between Once Upon A Toy and Earl of Sandwich. The project is expected to be complete in mid-April, 2011.

DS will be SO excited about a bigger Lego store- thanks for sharing! We go to one in Delaware and it's tiny. He always says he wants to go to the big one in Disney- wait til he hears the big one is getting bigger! :yay:

I am jumping on board for the rest of your TR. Spent the last two weeks reading everything you have posted so far. Sounds like you guys had so much fun! This TR has definitely gotten me in the mood for our upcoming trip in June! Can't wait to get back down there!!

Glad you liked Cape May! We also tried it on our last trip and everyone really enjoyed it. I hate heading to the end of the trip. Poo!

Well the buffet looked good!!
:goodvibes

I am so glad you guys tried it and enjoyed it a lot. If I was a buffet-goer I'd definitely eat there since I love seafood. It did make me pause when I saw your plate of pizza, bread AND chicken fingers. :rotfl2: (and then of course the desserts looked so good!) It's so hard to find places to eat with a picky eater. Buffets, I suppose, are the best for that situation. arrrgh. :rotfl:

Do you think it will be on your list of regulars?
How crowded was it?

Thanks for taking pics of it-----

I can't believe your TR almost over.:guilty: I'll be so sad!!!!:sad2:

There you are been wondering where my "partner in crime" been hiding :rotfl:

What will we do when Shelly finishes this TR?

I love buffets because of my picky eater ........DH, he is at times near impossible to eat out with, he has more qwirks than a 5 year old, do dressing on salad, no food items touching on plate, will not eat anything white other than mashed potatoes, no gravy or sauces at a buffet he can pick and choose to this hearts delight, when I seen they had ribs at Cape May I knew I could take him there for sure

great updates... 1 hour in DHS... that would be ideal :goodvibes get the good rides over and leave... I find our family tends to spend too much time in the parks shopping:rolleyes:

The sandwiches look good - too bad they were the wrong order.

CM dinner looks yummy...

I thought I remembered you going to Cape May for something. You should try it for dinner next time!

That dessert wasn't as rich as it sounds. Now some of the others that were chocolate the whole way through were so rich they made your eyes water! :rotfl:

Yep lunch was blah, but dinner was great. So it all evened out I guess!

I'm so excited to be under 7 months! :cool1: Now if winter would just be over time will start to fly by!

Welcome! :goodvibes I'm glad you are enjoying the TR!

Congrats on your June trip! :yay: I love your CBR ticker -- I don't think I have ever seen that one before.

I'm glad you enjoyed Cape May too. It's such a fun atmosphere in there!

I know, it's almost over. :sad2:

Well that means a lot coming from you -- saying that the buffet looked good! :lmao: Good enough for you to eat there?

I didn't think so. :rotfl:

The plate of pizza, chicken, and bread was DS9's!!!!!!!!!!! :upsidedow

It was fairly crowded in there. I think all the tables were full. But we didn't have to wait at the buffet for long or anything.

We would definitely go there again if we were staying in the area. I don't think we will make a special trip over there if we are not. Too many other places to try!!! :goodvibes

I think the 3 of us will be taking over the September thread with our endless chatter. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Welcome back Joanne!!! :goodvibes How was your trip??? Tell me all about your CBR experience. . . :cloud9:

Glad you are enjoying the updates.

Okay, so for those of you who are wondering how we liked not having the DDP after having it for the past several trips --
WE LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: It was so freeing!! We did not miss it at all! We ate at T-Rex, which isn't on the DDP so we normally wouldn't have gone there. We didn't have to force dessert down our throats right after dinner! We could eat dinner and then get a snack/dessert an hour or two later, like we normally would at home. We didn't have to limit our snacks to under $4, like on the DDP. We didn't have to worry about keeping track of the credits. We didn't have to buy a bunch of junk on the last day just to use up our snack credits. ETC!!

AND - We spent about $350 LESS than what we would have been charged for the DDP!!!!!!!!! I will get to all the money details later. . . :yay:

I'm so pleased to hear this. We've always used it, but are debating on not using it on our next trip for many of the same reasons you listed.

I was showing my daughter that pearl carriage enclosure you bought off of ebay for your pick-a-pearl. Can you inbox me the name of the person selling them so I can get one for her? Thanks!

Hidden Mickey! :thumbsup2

:lmao:
You know me so well.....:rolleyes1

Sadly I just don't think I could do a buffet. (I know you almost had me convinced to do CP). I need to just get over myself.

Yesterday we were driving past Golden Corral and Belle said "Daddy where are we going?" and he said "We're going to Golden Corral to eat after we get the car washed" (of course he was kidding). She yelled "Yeeeeesssss!" and in tandem he and I both said "EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!"
She said "Buffets are gross, but I still wanna go eat their rolls.":rotfl2:
ROLLS!!!!!

I knew that the plate of carbs you posted was DS9's. It looked like a plate Belle would have eaten, I guess that's how I knew it. Two peas in a pod that they are.

Sheila---- I was in an energy deprived state last week- I started a new exercise/diet program and it was taking a toll on my body. :faint:
But I'm feeling better today after my workout so hopefully I'm back to my trouble making posting self.:woohoo::banana::laughing:

Shelly---- who us three? endless chatter???? Nah------:dance3:

Great Minds think alike .....................I started seriously watching my caloric intake last week, I always have to watch my sugar/carbs because of my diabeties but due to taking insulin and other meds I have gained back 13 of the 20 lbs I lost prior to Dec '09. I weighed in this am down 2.4lbs :yay:
Next is to implement an exercise routine since it is too cold and way too much snow to go walking. I have set a realistic goal of losing 40lbs come vacation time, that is only 5lbs a month.

Wishing you success with the dieting and exercising :thumbsup2

Wow Sheila good luck to you too!!
I know it is a fine line you have to walk with having diabetes and working out/exercising. Good for you-- losing already!!
Take care of you and don't do too much.

5 lbs a month is very realistic!!! ::yes::

I am on a high protein diet right now, only one carb a day and it stinks b/c I want lots of rice and pasta and have to say no. Do you know how hard it is to go to an Italian restaurant and order salmon with veggies, no pasta and pass the bread basket without grabbing some?
Yeah- pretty hard which is why I *might* have had a couple of pieces. :rolleyes1

yuuum. I'll live on that memory all week.

Yum, yum!!! Your Cape May food looks really good. We're not really seafood eaters either but it looks like there was many other things to go around. Cape May gets really great reviews so it's definitely on our next trip list! :)

We really enjoyed not having it. I will go into more details about that once I get this TR wrapped up. Stay tuned! :goodvibes

I don't remember who the seller was that I bought mine from. But I just did a search for one on Ebay and it could have been this person, this looks just like it:

Good luck! :wizard:

That's one yummy hidden Mickey! ::yes::

Golden Corral's rolls!! Aw yes, one of DS9's favorites. ::yes:: Imagine that.

Now that's one buffet where I think the germs trump the big spread! Last time we went there it was so crowded and messy.

You, me, and Sheila -- nope, I don't think we've ever been known for chatting too much. ;):rotfl:

Yum, yum!!! Your Cape May food looks really good. We're not really seafood eaters either but it looks like there was many other things to go around. Cape May gets really great reviews so it's definitely on our next trip list! :)

It was really good. I was surprised by how much they had to offer for non-seafood eaters! :goodvibes

Hi Shelly! Did you work today? I see you weren't on here until late. I had a lot of things to do today, so I'm just now checking in, too.

Golden Corral! We have one here, but I have never set foot inside, so I can't comment on how good it is. Do y'all have Ryan's where you are? We used to have several here, but I think there may only be one still open, if that. It was one of those huge buffets with a big variety of food, but after 1 or 2 visits, that was it for me. (I didn't get sick, it just made me sick!) Ryan's is what I think of with Golden Corral, so I never went. And I agree with you - germs trump the big spread there!

So I've been trying to think of where you spent your last day. I know you probably did say something earlier, but I have a hard time remembering what I had for dinner some times! So, after careful consideration, my guess is that you went to MK again. So when will I get to find out if I'm correct? ;) No pressure for an update or anything.......:rolleyes1
