I can not decide....

My husband and I are going to have a few days alone with out our children and I wanted to surprise him with a stay at a deluxe resort. Which of these would you pick? Why?

AKL Savannah View or Boardwalk Inn Standard View?

I voted for AKL-Savanah View. I'm an animal lover and if I had the chance would stay there in a heart beat. A friend of mine stayed there last year and loved it.

I have stayed at both and you cannot go wrong.

Personally, I would recommend AKL because I think it is so very unique and romantic. The view here makes a big difference. I have never spent so much time on my balcony or looking out the window - not even in all my stays at GF with a view of Cinderella's Castle!
Are you planning on spending a lot of time in the parks? If you are, and I'm sure Epcot will be at the top of your list, then BWI would be excellent since you can walk to and from World Showcase with ease. Not to mention the entertainment in and around the Boardwalk itself.
This is a hard choice but my heart says AKL. I wouldn't even bother with the parks Just the restaurants, pool, hot tubs, poolside bar and Victoria Falls Lounge...PLUS Arusha Rock overlook, spa treatments at the fitness center and the two firepits (one indoor one outdoor).

No doubt, I would choose BWI. It's very romantic, and there are lots of restaurants, shops, bars, clubs, nightlife, etc. Lots of adult type restaurants... Flying Fish, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Palio, Shula's, etc. You can pop into Jellyroll's for dualing pianos, get your groove on at Atlantic dance, catch a game at ESPN Club, boy I sound like an ad! Strolling around the boardwalk at night is very romantic, walking over the bridge, etc, and you can walk over to the World Showcase for some drinks and fireworks. My dh proposed to me while staying at the BWI back in 1998. He rented the Breathless boat and proposed during Illumiations. What could be better than that??

We went and checked out the AKL when it first opened. Unless you are a die heard animal lover I can't see what would be fun to do there?? Unless you aren't really planning to leave the room at night! hee hee

BWI for sure! To me, the best advantages of this location are the boats to MGM and Epcot, plus the nice variety of restaurants...and of course, the Boardwalk itself!
AKL is nice, but the savanah rooms are a hike to the lobby! Plus, you must take the bus everywhere. You can always stat at BWI and have a meal at AKL and a stroll around the grounds.

I think it depends how much you and DH want to be alone. If you're just going to stay in the room, then AKL. If you want to go to a nice dinner (I'd suggest one with an Illuminations view), stroll through World Showcase, and then go to Jellyrolls, I'd say BWI. Splurge with BWI's deluxe concierage and you won't be sorry.

I voted for the BWI as well. I love the Epcot resort area, there are many dining choices and you are close enough to walk to both Epcot and MGM.
