I Can Do Disney All By Myself...anyone else?

Not true. It just came across kinda rude. I would have answered the question then let her know there was a solo board.

Good old Internet.. Can't tell people's tones. No issues here :)

Wasn't my intent at all, but can understand why one could think so. Mine was short and sweet.
Internet, texts, etc. can so easlily be misinterpreted when you don't hear the tone-too true.

I haven't been alone on a trip, but I've been on my own at a park for a bit. See, my younger daughter and I are very competitive, and we were playing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, and we decided to race to see who could finish first...

Otherwise, I've always been with someone else. Not sure if I could do it alone, I'd miss my Disney Daughter so much as we have the best time there when it's just the two of us! I'd even feel a bit guilty being there without her, as she loves everything Disney even more than I do (which is hard to imagine :lmao: )

I think I could try it once, for part of a day?

In fact, I am sending my sister on a 4 day trip by herself. Its a thank you gesture for all she did to help us out during my sons move into his new home. This will be the 2nd trip for her by herself and she enjoys every minute of it.

I went alone for a week last year and loved it. It was a little hard at first without my husband and 4 kids, but for someone who LOVES Disney it was heaven. I explored so many things, took my time, wandered through stores, took endless photographs of the little details -- statues, signs, etc -- that make Disney my happy place. I don't regret it at all. It was a much needed vacation for me.

I thought about a trip alone in October this year for the ToT 10 Miler, but decided against it. I am not ready to do WDW alone. I love WDW, but it simply would not be the same without my wife and children. I will make a trip alone eventually.

The good news - I convinced my wife to run with me in January.

This describes how I think it will be for me exactly...just wandering around...don't even care much about the rides, just the freedom to explore at my pace :thumbsup2

I've moved this thread to the Disney for Adults and Solo Travelers board. :)

I did a 10 day solo trip a few years back. I stayed on-site as I have an ECV and it makes getting to and from the hotel a lot easier. I loved it! I was all over the parks, as a woman alone, and was one of the last ones out at 2 am on EMH, and I never felt unsafe or uncomfortable.

I also was coming out of a marriage with a very controling man, and I loved being able to do what I wanted when I wanted. Plus the single rider lines can really cut wait time!

I've notice most of us single females are/have come out of bad relationships. Glad we have Disney to help

so there are single rider lines? I knew there were at Universal, but couldn't for the life of me remember if there were at Disney. Yay!!!

Lori P. :)

I did a semi- solo trip in 2011. Family stayed at the cabins and I had an AP so I took off to the parks solo. Loved it so much, I did a solo weekend in Feb. Purposely told no one (said I was at a conference), avoided social networks and just enjoyed my own pace. I rode TT around 15 times with single rider. Saw Fantasmic! for the first time since my usual travel partners either dislike fireworks or dislike HS.

I did it last December and had a great time. No regrets, and will do it again. This December, I'm going with my sister but may throw it a long weekend solo trip too.

I will be doing my first one shortly, 24th-29th, maybe I will see you there.

First solo trip was seven nights October 2009. Second one coming up this October - only five nights. Can't wait!!! Not one regret. Loved it all. It's a different trip than sharing the fun with family, but fabulous just the same. Itinerary included naps :)

I just booked my air and hotel for my first solo trip to WDW! :cool1:
Feeling nervous and excited at the same time.

I'm also doing a solo trip 8/18-24, I have a busy class load finishing my Master's degree, plus a Grad. assist and a tutoring job. So I thought, what a nice way to treat myself, a week before jumping in to the fall semester. On top of that, the great deal I got for staying on property. I'm booked into Pop Century, I've never stayed in the values before, but the resort looks like fun. :lmao: I have never been on an airplane solo, so I am a little nervous with that:thumbsup2. Thirty days from today.:yay:

I hope you have a great time! I'm planning a trip for this November which may be solo if no one else can make it. I like the idea of a solo trip, so I'd be fine with that.

I'm planning my third solo trip for July 2014. It's to reward myself for everything I've accomplished for the past 3-4 years, which includes a job change. That was one of the bravest things I've ever done (besides going to Germany solo) and I've dealt with a lot of stress. I've had to put my solo trip off for two years and I can't take it anymore! The positive of all that waiting is that everything in New Fantasyland should be completed by the time my trip rolls around and I can start of my mornings at the MK at Starbucks. I can't wait to spend another 8 days at the Wilderness Lodge. It's the best place for me to relax and spend time by myself. I need a break from all the classes, meetings and observations as a teacher. I should be renewed for another school year after that.
