I can bring my own cake to a disney restaurant, right??

We are eating at disney this weekend to celebrate my daughter's 5th birthday. I am planning on bringing a great cake from the local Publix there...4 layer chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chocolate fudge icing. Yum yum. With pink polka dots and flowers just for her!!!

When I was planning on having my son's birthday dinner at CM I called them direct and asked about this. I was told I could bring in a cake that was made on property.

Disney would'nt make any money if you brought in a cake from Publix.

At least you're DVC and can use your own cake at "home".That is probably the better plan anyway. Disney restaurants will give your little one a complimentary birthday cup cake with the meal.

I think it sounds like more fun to have it in the room after dinner anyway!

Then you don't have to hassle with carrying it with you.

I'd just do that myself.

Maybe do some streamers or balloons or something as well?

I brought Cheesecake to the Brown Derby two months ago with no problem or hassle.

The server won't mind as long as you tip extra.

Just think, they charge a corkage fee for bringing in an outside bottle of wine. Its basically the same thing. Plus by sitting back and enjoying cake, you're taking up the table for a longer period of time without increasing your check amount. Drop an extra $10 for the server, and all will be well.

Unless the restaurant she chooses says, "No way" and that would put a damper on the whole celebration, wouldn't it? Of course, I have always thought was one of the worst "adages" in existence.

agreed - if the restaurant says you can't bring in the cake once you get there WITH the cake, then you're stuck with the cake and noplace to go with it.

Call the restaurant directly (NOT WDW-DINE unless you want to ask them for the restaurant's direct phone number - but it's much easier to just google the restaurant) and ask before you try.

We had a post from someone who wanted to bring outside food into the Garden Grill because they didn't want to eat Garden Grill's food, although the rest of the party wanted to eat there. I believe they called Garden Grill and were told it would not be permitted. So some restaurants do prohibit outside food, apparently.
