was allowed to use the code with no pin. I asked if there were any discounts associated with my name or for the time of travel (August). She said no. Then I gave her the code. I was allowed to use the code if I booked a package. She said there were no time restrictions. I told her August 12-18. She said that was fine. But the price I was given reflected no discount.

I called back and was told that the CM's enter the code but can't tell if it is giving a discount. So, if I change my travel dates I can get the discount with no pin.

If you are flexible with your travel dates, you should start your vacation on Aug 21st because that is the first available day for the discount. Also, you dont have to book a package to get the 40% off. The package only discounts the room, not the tix or dining, so if youre looking for just the room and get the right CM then you should be able to get the discount. The code I had when I called was for a package but I very nicely explained to the CM that I only needed the room and he said "let me see if I can work some Disney magic" and just like that, he was able to give me the discount I was looking for. So if you are able, change your dates of travel and keep calling until you get a friendly CM

My dates aren't really flexible since I have a 5th grader and freshman. Need to go in the summer. Latest date I can arrive home is the 20th. Hoping for free dining though.
