I spoke with a very nice CM a few minutes ago who would not check for any PIN or CODE for me  (says they can lose their positions if they do) but he did check the current offers and he said that the 40% off went to a very select few and it went out on or around January 7th by direct mail...he says there may still be some out there that have not arrived at people's homes. I continue to hope! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

I laid it on thick with my story :goodvibes (all true)...

We're booked for September 2009 with a great free dining deal but would love to be able to book for November because it is my and my Dad's birthdays (Nov. 21 me and Nov 20 for him). :cheer2: If we got a code for the November 15-21 time frame (I told him I knew there was one because someone I know received one) we would change our reservation and come then to celebrate. :wizard: He kept saying to me that it's still possible to get a code, even that one, and to keep checking e-mail and home mail.

I'm hoping that the stories of people receiving one after they've called happens to me...I will post if I receive one, that is if I am actually able to type because I will be jumping with joy!!! :cool1:

pixiedust: Please send me some pixie dust!!! pixiedust:

I called on Sat and the first CM I spoke to said they were not allowed to check and see if I had a 40% code. I thanked him then hung up and called again. I called right back and got a different CM, guess what I now have a 40% code. I could not get the date I wanted so I didn't book. Im deciding what date tomorrow. She gave the code over the phone for later use. Good luck Tina

You may want to try again. When I called last week, the CM did find my code pixiedust:

I find it hard to believe that they lose their job for helping someone and securing a reservation!

That is definitely not true with him saying he can lose his job. I just called last week and asked a CM and she was able to find mine, but she said she had to talk to her manager because it shows that it wasn't valid for another two weeks, so she wanted to make sure. Now why would she ask her manager about it if she can get into trouble???????

it is sooooo frustrating to call...answer 15 questions:faint: ...wait on hold forever:upsidedow ...finally talk to a CM (if you don't get disconnected first)...just to be told they can't tell you about the code...even though you KNOW they can! It is starting to get to me!:scared:

This has always worked for me.

"I recieved a postcard the other day for 40% off but now I can't seem to find it, am I outta luck or is there a way for you to look for it?"

Also mine was under my maiden name at an old address so I would have NEVER rec'd it! :cheer2:

I was told by a couple CM"s that they couldn't look. Then I was told by one I had a 20% off code. I called again to check on the code and was told they couldn't refuse to look for any discounts for you. Lo and behold, she said my discount was actually for 40% and not 20%. I can't seem to figure them out.

can anyone tell me what the dates are for the 40% code...that way i dont cont to call and be told they won't look it up if I cant use it anyway. thanks!

When I called, I got a big lecture from a surly CM about how they can't 'proactively' offer me a code just because I bothered to call and ask and about how he deals with 150 to 300 PIN codes a day, so it's not like he could just make one of those up for me. I didn't even call to ask about that either - he just assumed that's what I was trying to do based on other questions I asked, I guess. He just kept going and going and going lecturing me about how he couldn't just make up a discount for me. The phone call could have been ended several minutes early if he would have just stopped and let me finish what I'd actually called to do.

Ok what is happening, is Disney is reading these threads and CMs are getting reprimanded for info shared on here about CMs looking up codes, giving discounts without codes etc.

No CM is to ever discount a room without the guest having a code with a PIN. Ever, they could lose their job over this. So if you got a discount, I imagine you did have a code somewhere listed on your household account.

I called last week to make our reservations for October. I asked the CM if there were any way to check if I had a pin attached to my name. He said of course and checked for me. I mentioned that I had heard some people say that they had been told that they couldn't look this up any longer. He laughed and said that many of those CM's are new and don't know how to do it! Don't know if that is true or not, but that is what one CM said to me.

I tend to think that is the reason. Many frustrated, stressed out cm's that don't know the ropes. :upsidedow

I just called about an hour ago and asked the nice CM about a pin code, and we were so excited to hear that we have one attached to my name! Finally!! First pin ever!! :cheer2:
The CM was very nice about checking into it for us.

We ended booking just a long weekend over Halloween at POP. Never stayed there, and we usually pick a mod resort, but we figured for the nice price, we could not go wrong. Plus most of that weekend will either be spent at Food and Wine or dressed up in costume at the MK.

I don't think anyone has stated that they were given a discount even though there was no pin or code attached to their household? :confused3

I posted a similar question before seeing this post. I called and was told (rather grumply) there was no way to check I have to provide that info to them so I just hung up. Sounds like I need to try again or get DH to call and see what he finds. I could really use that kids eat free code. (BTW if I had a kids eat free code can you book 2 rooms both w/ Adult and kids on that or does it have to be just one room?)

I would think that the kids eat free code would not have anything to do with the room rates or the number of rooms.

Actually, I just called because my husband just agreed that Me and the Boys can go for a week!:cool1: and had a very nice CM that looked to see if I had a PIN - unfortunately, I didn't this time but I will keep checking:goodvibes

How does one get a PIN/CODE? Do they start to come to you after so many trips, etc? I'm sorry I don't want to steal the thread I've just always been curious.
