I bought a new camera!

Oh my is all I can say! I bought a fuji finepix s5100! I love it. I can't wait to get to a place to really shoot some pictures! I think I spent the day with the rapid fire mode on! I can't believe how fast this camera is! My old digital took forever to take the picture and if you weren't use to the camera you would get a lot of shots with the kids looking away.
I got really good at compensating with it. But wow iwth this one I can just shoot and shoot!
Plus the zoom! 10x optical! Tomorrow I am headed up to the kids school can't wait!
For anyone who is looking this camera is the bomb for the price!

I have the 5000, but my sister just bought the 5100. They are great!! Try buydig.com, I'm pretty sure that is where my sister found the best price, but she also mentioned there's a $50 rebate right now too.

I got mine at Ritz camera center. It was $349 then a $50 rebate and then a $40 gift card (helps pay for another digital card....)
The gift card is good through the end of the week. But they had it also 2 weeks ago and then off for a week!

I just watched the demo on this camera on the Home Shopping Network and I was in physical pain not to buy it. It had the rebate and flex pay and I'm so kicking myself for not getting it. There is nothing wrong with my Canon A95, but I would like more pixels, but mostly the zoom and the quick recover on the response time is so tempting. We have an incredible trip of a lifetime to Disney this summer and I just keep thinking what good memories we'd have with that camera - ughh... willpower

Lisa, I say buy it. For real.
My old digital camer took very good pictures. It had all the features I needed but the response time was terrible. I know that all of us with older digitals have learned to compensate for it. Plus the zoom was lacking But shots are still missed.
Plus this camera has an amazing rapid fire mode. My old one had that too but it was rather useless. This one really works great.
The camera is very light even with the 4 AA batteries in it. Very comfortable to wear and hold. I was a little concerned about that. But I have now had it a week, I think I have shot over 500 pictures! LOL! Granted I was playing with the camera! I have no regrets! One of the best things I have bought for myself!
Trip of a life time=camera capible of caturing it all!

Oh, The $50 rebate can be printed out at the fuji home page. So it doesn't matter where you buy it. Not sure if Ritz still has the $40 gift card. It seems like it pops up every other week!

The Kodak Easyshare I bought for DD seems to be getting slower and slower. I don't know if it's the memory chip or what, but I almost have to beg it to take the picture already!! I think I'm missing lots of "moments" due to the really slow lag time between pix. Maybe it's time to upgrade (if I can convince my DH )

Lisa, Just one more thing....Fuji is coming out with an upgrade to this camera from what they told. Maybe by May. It will be basically the same camera but more megapix and possibly 12x optical zoom. So that means these cameras will be harder to find. (not to give you any more reasons to buy it NOW!!!!!!!!)
I had to go to two Ritz stores!
I think you deserve it! Plus you will make excellent use of it!
