I booked!

Well, the sad news is that several family members were unable to make the commitment to Disney Xmas 2014, so instead of 11 of us going, it is now 5 of us. I almost certainly won't be able to make Xmas next year, but have booked flights - out Dec 9th, back Dec 28th, and fulfilled a long held ambition by booking a (short) stay onsite. First night POR, then 4 nights at AKL in a 2 bed savannah view. Still have to sort where we are staying for the rest of the stay but flights + Disney accommodation paid for.

It will be my first holiday in 5 years, so very excited!!!!

I know how you feel, we were supposed to be going with lots of family and friends next August but when it actually came to booking only 8 of them actually wanted to make the commitment! Hope you all have a fantastic time, here's where the excitement begins!

Found the villa for the rest of the stay and got a bargain from Hertz via Quidco ( 25% discount and 10% cashback -yay!)
Just have to buy park tickets now, so I can book FP.

I know someone whose parents live in Florida, so I am wondering if we could get the Magic Bands shipped there and then ask them to ship them to us. Has anyone else done this?

I wouldn't risk shipping them to someone to ship here only to take them back. As you are at Disney first you will get them on check in anyway and you don't need them before that.
