We want walking distance. We have 3 daughters. 10, 7 and almost 3. So room to accommodate.... Anything better value that's just as close?

We stayed in a Kids suite in Hojo and loved it! We were on the first floor in building 1 and at first I didn't want to be on the ground floor, but it was great. No wait for elevators and it was really quiet. It's nice having two bathrooms and a separate area for the kids.

Courtyard? It is across the street from Hojos. Desert Inn and Suites is also popular on here.

Check carousel inn & Homewood suites convention center (slightly longer walk 10 min but you can use free toy story shuttle)

We stayed at the Del Sol in their kid "suite" (was basically a normal room with 2 queen sized beds and a set of bunk beds) with two adults, an 11 year old, 9 year old, and an infant. It was reasonably priced, a close walk, and we didn't feel too crowded. Wanted to book it again this time, even with a fourth kiddo, but it wasn't available for our time, so we ended up having to stay further away and will need to use the shuttle. Most rooms can accommodate 5, even if a little cramped, but we have found that being a family of 6 now has pushed us out of most rooms.

Desert Inn has parlor suites: 2 queen beds in the main room, plus there is a small tv room "parlor" when you first enter that has a sofa bed pullout, and a door to the main room. I stayed in one last year, top floor, close to the front of the property; it was clean and comfy, and the staff was very nice. It's right by the crosswalk; 5 minutes to the turnstiles. Staying there again next month.

For kids the ages you listed, HoJo is the best. It's not a bad walk to the parks. The water park is designed for kids their ages. Courtyard Waterpark has water slides that are better than HoJo, but the lowest prices you see these days are around $280-300. They have rooms designed for 6, but they're not really suites. Just large rooms.

If you want to be closer and cheaper check out desert inn and suites and best western plus anaheim inn. Both have rooms that sleep up to 6. Both also have a breakfast (it's better at BW, but desert has enough to get you going).

I saw that! Expensive!
We've stayed at HOJO regular room before the baby came along when the girls were 3 and 6. Walk was fine for us. We are active people so it wasn't bad at all

They both were cheaper than HOJO for our dates (we needed a room for 5). But we did book WAY in advance.

We're a family of 5 and have stayed in the regular rooms at Hojo and felt like there was plenty of room. I think the last time we stayed there the kids were about 4, 7 & 11. We don't mind all being in one room though. All five of us have also stayed at Desert Inn and Suites, Tropicana (this one was a tight fit), Del Sol, Grand Legacy, Candy Cane, and DLH. DLH & Hojo had the biggest regular rooms. We had a parlor suite at Desert Inn, which has a sofa bed in a separate room from the 2 Queen beds. The Del Sol room had 2 queens and a bunk bed squeezed into one room. We drive to DL so we just bring a cot or air mattress for one of the kids. They are 14, 11 & 8 now and we just got back from DL. Split stay, 2 nights at Grand Legacy (used the cot) and 2 nights at DLH, where the room has a decent pull out sofa bed. We would love to stay in the kids suite sometime, but the separate room isn't worth the extra cost to us.

We stayed at the new courtyard last November for one night. It is a nice Hotel and I think it would work perfect for a family of 5. There were two queen beds, bunks, and a little table. The bathroom set up also was designed for everyone trying to get ready at the same time. Definitely walkable. Seemed to be built for larger families wanting to fit in one room.

Desert Inn is usually a cheaper option than HOJO and has rooms that accommodate larger groups. They are right across the street from the main entrance and include a free basic breakfast. They do have a parking fee and resort fee though, so consider that in prices. When you book far enough in advance you can get rooms for 6 people for around $120. We got a 2 queen room for $89 (plus fees) in May 2015 by booking in February.

That being said, if you're okay with the price you have for HOJO it is a nice place and the walk is fine. Your kids would likely enjoy the water area. But then again, if you plan on spending a lot of hours in the parks it may not be worth the extra cost or walking time. Kids are pretty happy with a basic pool, and they don't know what they're missing until they have it.

We've stayed at both those hotels, plus several others in the walkable area.

Our family of 5 stayed at Camelot in their two room family option. It was $225/ night. It was really spacious and comfy beds. Only one bathroom. Had 2 mini fridges, a table to eat at and a microwave. Right across the street and near Panera and McDonalds if that's your thing. Probably will stay there again next trip

We are five adult size, and we like Best Western Park Place Inn, and we stay in the mini suite...2 queen beds and a double size sofa bed. It has breakfast, not super, but enough to start the day. The pool is small, and one bathroom. Last summer it was about $160/night, plus $10 parking.

If you go to the Desert Inn website and punch in your dates and select the room...you can actually see what your total would be AFTER the fees. It's nice to see it all right there before booking without having to do the math myself.

You can typically book a room with them about a year in advance or so. And you can cancel for free up until 24 hours before, I believe.

We stayed at the Anaheim Plaza (in the deluxe room) when we had 3 kids with one that young with two queens. We just brought an extra thick blanket and made the little one a bed on the floor and everyone was comfy. The walk was quite close and the room was a ground room towards the back. Quiet and pretty spacious. (we called the hotel ahead of time and asked about 5 including a 2-year-old and they didn't have any issue with it)

We went for the Homewood suites for our upcoming trip because it's the same prove, maybe less & includes many meals.

We are staying at the (new hotel) Hyatt House. Our kids are 8, 11, and 13. We are looking forward to the breakfast in the morning to help get us going. We loved the portifino inn and suites, loved the kids suites. too.
