I know, I am lucky to be going to Disney so I should just be happy. However, I am worried about the crowds. We are staying at the Poly the 6th through the 12th. We tried to add an extra night and they said all of the hotels are booked!! Does this mean the parks are going to be really crowded? We usually go in November or January to avoid the crowds. Usually there are several empty rooms at that time of year. Are these crowds still from the aftermath of the hurricanes? Any optimistic opinions would be appreciated. Thanks so much!!

Hurricanes could be part of it and change everything. But we've been right around that exact week twice in the last 5 years (11/9-15 and 11/14-19) and we did not need a single PS for any restaurant in which we wanted to eat except one and walked on to virtually every ride except during the middle of the day in the early entry parks.

Wow!! We have called a bunch of times in the past week and they have told us that it is booked.(also the other hotels we were interested in) We are paying $219.00 a night. We asked them if it is just booked under our rate or fully booked under any rate. They said it was fully booked period. Well after looking at your link, I think I will give them a call again. Thanks so much to both of you for your help.

the 6th through the 10th  That is the week of Veterans Day and the end of the week is Soap Star Weekend. Yes, we will not be the only ones there.......we are only going to the parks Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to avoid crowds as much as we can.........

I have a friend who is going down on Nov. 4-7 for some type of business convention. All the other people are staying at the CR but she was put in POR. Add that to the winding down of F&W Festival, Jersey Week, Veterans Day.....

I too will be going Nov 6 - 10th

I was at the world on the most crowded day in history...new years 1999-2000

even the worst day was not that bad...it's all gravy to me.

I'll be there from Nov. 6th - 13th also. I hope it's not crowded, either. It kind of sounds like it will be.

We were there during "Jersey Week" in 2002 which encompassed Veteran's Day and Election Day as well as Wine and Food - you get the picture....

There were certainly a lot of people there, but the only real trouble we had was Blizzard Beach on Election Day - BIG Mistake!!!! (Don't even consider it - it was horrible) It was a beautiful day and all of the kids in FLA were out of school (and at BB)!

Fantasyland at MK was kind of wall-to-wall but we really did do everything we wanted to with very manageable waits. We did miss out on a couple of rides (POC and WTP) due to poor planning. The lines were long and there weren't any more fast passes available.

Just go with the attitude that it will be busy, but that you will enjoy yourself anyway. We are going donw Nov 12 - 19 and that is how I am approaching it. Of course, it will just be me and my man - no kids!!!! so everything will be that much easier for us.

Like everyone that comes to these boards, We will all have a good time despite the crowds.

The tips and such that we have learned keeps the pixie dust floating everywhere despite some roadblocks.

Still...I am keeping my fingers crossed for manageable crowds!

I think "all the Disney resorts are full" crowded is different from "all of Orlando is full" crowded. The parks can handle huge numbers of people, so even with all the Disney resorts full, they still have a lot of capacity.

The Disney site seems to have availability at many different resorts for 11/6-11/12, so even the Disney resorts aren't all full. You may have a few lines here and there, but I think you will be just fine. :-)

FYI - 6th - 11th is not Jersey Week this year. NJ Public Schools have off the 4th and 5th. Our district has the whole week (1st-5th), so hopefully that will lower some of the crowds for you.

We leave tomorrow. 1 out of every 3 people I talked to at the Halloween parade at school today are heading to Disney this weekend. I am very nervous about the crowds.

I have been several times around Nov 6th (my b-day!) and have never had a problem. Walked on to everything. I have however found that this year seems to be busier than normal, making PS etc. But, it's a trip to WDW bring a smile and your walking shoes and enjoy! If you worry it's not as much fun.

Last year, the front desk at the Beach Club said that all the rooms at Yacht Club, Beach Club, and Beach Club Villas were sold out that week. (Same week in November.)

But, the parks didn't seem that crowded. (I avoided Super Soap Weekend at the Studios.)

I'll be there again November 6-14, looking forward to my
EIGHT food and wine events. (Yeah, I'm nuts.)

I just talked to a friend of mine this evening who is at the World right now. They arrived this morning and went to Epcot at about 10:30 this morning. They walked over to get a fast pass for Mission Space to find out that the wait time was only 10 minutes. They said Epcot wasn't crowded at all. They haven't been to the other parks yet.

We've been going to the Food and Wine for several years now right around this time. The EPCOT resorts are always sold out during F&W. But the parks are rarely crowded.

Course its not like it used to be 5 years ago when the parks were almost deserted after school started...but its not bad.

I got an email yesterday from some travel notification I signed up for and basically it said this....

"Great deals for Orlando area hotels! November 1st-December 12th, bookings are down in Orlando area! Due to great deals on the Walt Disney World Resort, their hotels are overflowing and off-site reservations are down 20% from previous years. Book now to enjoy last minute deals on the most magical vacation a family can take"

So, if this is true maybe crowds still won't be bad!

Oh, you guys shouldn't get my hopes up :hyper:

Either way, we'll have a great time!

Aloha!

We leave tomorrow!! I can't believe it's here.

Our town only has Thurs. and Fri. off for teacher's convention. I have a 3rd grader and 6th grader. There is only one other family from my daughter's third grade (close to 65 families) going and from the older child - she only knows of two other girls going.

Last year, lots of people from our school went - this year - hardly any. I'm very excited about that.

It will be a grand time!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
