We are flying into Orlando at 7pm on a Friday night. I figure we will be at the Wildnerness Lodge around 8pm. We have 2 court yard view rooms reserved but I am worried about getting poor room locations that late in the evening.
We are planning on calling them just before we leave Dayton and letting them know that we will be there that evening. Is there anything else that we could do to insure that we get good rooms? :worried:

I really don't think calling the day you leave will help. Your best bet is to call CRO right now and have your room preferences/requests noted on your reservation. Remember, they are just requests and they may not be able to grant them. Depending on the resort capacity for that day you may or may not get what you want other than the room type/view you paid for.

It sounds to me that they get a "pool" of rooms to choose from at checkin, so a later check in would result in a smaller "pool" of rooms... so I wonder if upon checking in, and your "requests" cannot be met, if you would be willing to move the next day for a more "desirable" room... :confused3 It seems to me getting a room is like winning the lottery, you just never know...

Not everyone can get the one of the GV rooms in the POLY that has a partial LV or one of the rooms in WL that has a partial fireworks view. Everyone who reads the guidebooks and looks on the internet can't expect to get the same small group of rooms. When the occupancy is high some guests are going to get the less desirable rooms.

Decide what's your most important request. If you need connecting rooms you might not be able to ask for much more. Bunk beds? Floor? View?

ASSUME YOU'LL ONLY GET one of those requests and don't set yourself up for disappointment. A request like connecting room with bunk beds is a request if it's met at all will all but exclude other requests.

We arrrive around the same time friday - and have ressies for a courtyard room at WL also! I have been worried about this also, but I guess there is not a whole lot we can do about it! I plan on calling them that morning to remind them of our late arrival though. They recomended that we do that. Good luck! Maybe we'll see you at check in! :goodvibes
