I am telling my Boss...(updated)

NOOOOO...most employers will say "Just leave NOW". Wait until you get another job.
Exactly!!!!!!!!!

That would happen in my company. Someone would give 2 weeks notice and they'd ask them to leave that day. Most employers don't want you around if they know that you're looking elsewhere.

I won't hear anything till friday (sometime) and than if it works out I will hand him my resignation letter and I might even say a few words to him....
nice words that is... :cool1:

Most of the time you should not hand in a resignation without having another job lined up. HOWEVER, if you are in a bad situation then sometimes no job is better. It also depends on how long you can last without a paycheck.

I have actually never been told to leave immediately. Every time I have givennotice I have been expected to work down to the very last minute of the last day. I have never held a corporate position, though, so that's probably the difference.

I wouldn't tell my boss I was leaving until I actually had another job to go to.

I would ask for more projects at work...bosses like that...it shows ambition and initiative.

I've just done this. Gave my notice after I received my offer letter from the new place. It is a direct competitor to my current employer so I half expected them to escort me out of the building...nope, I am here until Friday which will be the full 2 weeks! LOL Oh well, so much for the extra 2 week vacation...
