A confession - I cruised on the 3 night Wonder in December 2000. I was really excited about cruising DIsney style. I looked forward to it for about six months. I don't think I set myself up for a let down, but when I got off the ship, I told myself it would be a long time before I did DCL again, if ever. I was very dissapointed in the quality of the food, our servers acted as though they we doing us a huge favor by showing up with our food, they never checked on our table during dinner except to take orders and bring the food. I just came off it feeling like DCL needed some big time Disney Customer Service training.

So now here it is 2004. Last week, I booked the 14 night Ca to FL repositioning cruise. And I am getting very excited about it. I have been reading the Navigators, I have been reading the DCL web site, I just feel the "I can't wait for it to get here" feeling inside me. I will be sailing solo, I think that is one reason that I decided to try DCL again, I know that I will not be "alone" with all the Disers that will also be on the ship. I have always wanted to sail alone, so why not cruise number 13?

I hope I can keep the excitement toned down to a managable level till at least next July. And I am really hoping that this will be a better cruise.

Bon Voyage.

You will have a great time and our servers, Orlan and Elvira, were excellent. No worries. It is so much fun, you won't regret it.

And a "HI" from Nashua. :wave2:

I'm sure you'll have a great time. I'm really sorry to hear about your last DCL experience. That is very uncommon though. I'm betting your next set of servers will be excellent!

Wow! I'm surprised you re-booked with a 14-day after not totally enjoying your 3-day cruise. Every experience is different, though, so hopefully you're going to LOVE your next trip.::yes::

I can somewhat relate to you. I just completed my first DCL cruise. We did 3 day Wonder, and while it was nice and we had a great time (especially my dd) I think that there were areas that I feel let down...the food being one of them. Also, we came off of 4 days at Disney and I didn't quite feel the same magic and warm fuzzy that we got at the Beach Club and the parks. The service and attention we received at the Beach Club waaaayyy out performed the Wonder. They just need to work on extending that same excitement to the ship. BUT, I also think that I had maybe "overresearched" my cruise and perhaps that took away some of the mystery and surprise for me. Don't get me wrong, we are already thinking of booking a 7 day in 2006! Our cruise all and all was wonderful our servers were good and the food was decent (could've been better) and Castaway Cay was AMAZING.

I'm sure your next cruise will be wonderful.

Oh yeah! A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. Besides, it's DCL, how much trouble could I possibly make, er, get into?

Hopefully your experience will be similar to ours. I know that it may be hard to believe, considering that we've sailed on DCL 37 times now, with #38 just a few weeks away, but we were very "underwhelmed" by our first trip! We were on the Magic's 12th sailing, and they really didn't have things together yet. We went with the expectation that there would be bugs, which is why we gave it another chance...and I'm sure you can guess that they did indeed wow us on our later trips :D
I hope it will be the same for you!

The servers really can make a big difference. We, too, were very unimpressed with our servers on our 3-night cruise last summer. We had great servers for lunch in Tritons, which just emphasized how lame our dinner servers were. We're still hoping to try another DCL cruise (if FL resident rates ever come out again).

I hope you have a great trip (with great service!)
