I am sorry. I have another ticket question because I do not get it.

Somebody told me that if I want to upgrade a ticket purchased on Maple Leaf to an Annual Pass, I need to wait until I get inside the park otherwise I will not get the full value of it. I do not understand. How does a 5-day ticket have a different value outside the gate than inside the gate? If it is already tied to my magic band, isn't it a 5-day ticket either way?

That's old advice. I won't explain the logic behind price "bridging" here. You'll get the same credit whether you enter the park or not.

I want to make sure, you are asking in regards to Disney World tickets, not Universal. I know you asked a Universal question too. The answer to this question is different for Universal. Just in case you posted in the wrong board (easy to do)

And, just to answer that specific question...
The DIFFERENCE is that a never-used 5-day ticket is still NEW and considered to be transferrable (given or sold) to another guest.
It has full value in the "real world."

Once a ticket has been used even one time, it is no longer transferrable, and therefore worth little in the "real world,"
as nobody but the original guest can legally continue to use it.
It only retains its full value if used in a Disney upgrade transaction, as the ticket to which the guest upgrades will be back-dated
to the date that the original ticket was first used.
