I am so miserable ...

... this morning, I walked through the gardens I slave over all spring and summer and looked and my flowers all encased in a tomb of ice and frost. Pretty though they were, I knew it was only a matter of time. As the sun came up, the frost melted and all my flowers dropped dead. Is there anyone else out there who gets miserable when this happens? I think I live in the wrong climate. :sad2:

I do not plant too often, but yes, it is rather depressing to see this happen. I dread the Winter and this is just the beginning.

"It's the Ciiiiirrrclllleee - the circle of life" :simba:

Yes I feel the same way. I keep covering my window box and porch pots because I just not ready to have them go bye-bye. But the ones out in the garden look so sad.

I feel the same way. I am living in the wrong state. I LOVE warm weather. What am I doing in New Hampshire? It is beautiful here but the winter is too long.

Sorry to hear it makes you sad but if you look up into the trees the leaves are changing and the colors are fantastic.

I don't think I'd like to be in a warmer climate myself because I love the newness of each new spring. Nothing can compare to that first snow crocus then the grass getting green followed by the tulips. What about that first 'really nice' when everyone gets their cars washed and rolls down the windows. How about those first nice days when every family is at the park.

Nothing puts me in a better mood

I pulled and cut everything today to avoid the defrosted look. It is sad when you have worked so hard and it all comes to a quick end.

:( I always hate when that happens. I'm thinkin' the only good thing about it staying so warm so late around here (I hate heat) is that my gerber daisies are still blooming like crazy--I've got full flowers on all of them and they've all got little guys waiting to come up, too, but it's supposed to get a lot colder next week, so they probably won't last too much longer. Sigh.

dead flowers means no more ragweed :teeth:

Hasn't happened here yet...but it will!

My flowers and shrubs all look so pretty but I know they have stopped flourishing and are just in a kind of limbo..waiting...ugh

I dread it...but it's a fact of where we live sadly... :confused3

Time to move on down here. It was "cool" this morning, but by afternoon it was a glorious 75. Summers aren't hot, I promise.

I can feel your pain. Only reminds us that winter will be on its way in the near future. :sad2:

It's still so warm here, that I'm scared to plant any fall flowers! :sunny:
