... this morning, I walked through the gardens I slave over all spring and summer and looked and my flowers all encased in a tomb of ice and frost. Pretty though they were, I knew it was only a matter of time. As the sun came up, the frost melted and all my flowers dropped dead. Is there anyone else out there who gets miserable when this happens? I think I live in the wrong climate.

I always hate when that happens. I'm thinkin' the only good thing about it staying so warm so late around here (I hate heat) is that my gerber daisies are still blooming like crazy--I've got full flowers on all of them and they've all got little guys waiting to come up, too, but it's supposed to get a lot colder next week, so they probably won't last too much longer. Sigh.
