I am so mad right now!!!

I traded my Explorer in for a Toyota 4Runner on April 2nd. (The dealership had offered me more than my payoff, so I jumped at the chance.)

I called Regions Bank, got the payoff amount, the dealership verified it, and said they'd send it in right away, because it was only good through a certain date, then more interest would accrue.

Well, today is the day that my payment WOULD have been due on the old car, and guess what got debited out of my checking account?!? That's right, the payment for the car I no longer have!

I called Regions, and after being on hold for 20 minutes, the lady told me that they didn't get the payoff check from the Toyota dealership until TODAY, and they would be mailing a refund to me, but it would take 17-25 business days to get the check processed. I don't know whether to call the dealership and light them up or what. I'm so mad I would probably cry. Basically, I have to eat almost $500 for a month until they can get the refund to me.

NOT HAPPY. Thank god the first payment on the new car isn't until May 15, or else I'd really be ticked off!!!

Oh, yeah. I'd call the bank. They messed up -- they need to fix the problem.

I would call the dealer and complain. You will probably be charged additional interest, you should make the dealer pay that as well. There's no excuse for taking two weeks for a payment to be sent.
