Just had to vent that NWA changed our flight time out again. :sad2: When I booked months ago we were leaving at 7:00 then it got changed to 8:30, now I just received notice that it is 9:30 so we won't be landing until noon. :sad2: Normally in the past by noon we are already at the resort having lunch. I know the airlines are cutting back flights etc., however, my family and I just want to get to our "2nd home".

I hate when they do this. We got pushed back an hour and a half on our last trip, but we underestimated Magical Express, so we actually arrived earlier than we planned anyway.

In my opinion, a late start is better than no start! plus you get to sleep in a bit more. ;)

I did think of the sleeping in part. Now instead of getting up around 4:30, we can wait until 6:30. However, the night before I am so "wired" up that I don't think I really sleep anyway. We are 62 days away and cannot wait!! :cheer2:

I will never understand why they are allowed to do this. You pay for something and then get something else! How do they get away with it? When I pick a flight the time is the number one thing I am looking at, after destination of course.

Are there any earlier flights that you can get on? They will not charge any change fee's if you don't like your "new" times...

I hate when they do this too! Mostly because what they are usually doing is combining under booked flights. I had (Song airlines) seat assignments and then the losers changed my flight. When we got there they said the seats were no longer assigned and tried to give us 4 separate seats. They were gonna put my kids (4 and 2) alone. So when I told them they said we could wait for the next plane. Can you believe, and said we would have to be on "Standby" for the next plane. So we said nothing (except for mentioning that perhaps this kind of service was why they were going bankrupt) and just got on the plane and sat together. Then when the people sitting in those seats showed up they realized what idiots they were and fixed the problem.

There are no earlier times-I just checked a while ago. I just hope this is the final change. And I hope they don't change our flight home, which is 5:30. The last day is usually a "shot" day because I know that ME will probably pick us at around 1:30 or 2:00 like last year.

Air tran did this to us too. We bought tickets for a straight through flight leaving after I got done with work and getting in at about 8PM. They changed to to a stop in Atlanta, getting us to Orlando at 11PM. We have a reservation at Chef Mickey's at 7AM the next morning. If it was just me I would have no problem, but my kids wouldn't get enough sleep. So we had them change our flight to leave at 5:45AM and added an extra day at the parks. Who needs to go to work anyway:)

But you are going to Disney World!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Seriously though, I would be disappointed too.

United did this to me, too. I am sorry. It seems like we should get some sort of compensation for it. Not asking for all my money back...but something!

I hope you have a nice trip despite all of this! :sunny:

Are you flying out of Detroit? Our flight leaves at 7:02 AM. Our flight home leaves at 5:39PM. I got a full 8 day pass thinking I could spend the last morning at MK. Believe me, I have been checking weekly--and almost daily recently!

I'm worried about this too. I just booked AirTran and have heard so many stories of them being notorious for this. I wanted SW again but they were too $$$. If they have to make changes to it I just hope it's the time and not putting us on a connecting flight!

If you ask, they will generally book you on any other flight between those two locations (or, sometimes, between nearby locations), without charging you any difference in airfare. I've done this several times---once I managed to get myself moved from a flight to TPA into a (much more expensive) flight to MCO when the TPA flight was rescheduled.

If you don't like any of the other options, and your initial flight has changed by "enough", they may also refund your money, even if your ticket is non-refundable. This is less certain, but still possible.

I feel your pain. I booked my Delta flight months ago, and since their "restructuring" they have changed my flights 5 times!

The second last time, they changed our 6 AM departure to 4 PM!!!!! That was simply unacceptable and I turned into a ranting lunatic on the phone with them.

Amazingly, they were able to switch me back to the 6 AM flight - BUT - with a really stupid layover, which is turning our 2 hour trip into a 4 hour trip.

But at least I'll still be at WDW long before they even wanted me to LEAVE Buffalo. ;) :)

This one had better stick. ;)

Definately call and see if you can get on an earlier flight. I've been succesful in having a flight changed to an earlier flight due to schedule changes. It's worth a try.

It wasn't for a trip to Disney, but being a compulsive planner, I had booked the flight 11 months in advance. 30 days in advance they cancelled my flight and put me on a flight that would have arrived 3 hours after my cruise ship had left port. Their response after 4 hours on the phone was that we could get a refund. That didn't help, during that time I looked up flights with other airlines. Many times more cost!!!

So, DH and I went in the night before to make sure we got where we needed in time. Needless to say we ate the cost of the extra night's hotel, but it was worth it so that I could get the vacation I had planned on.

There should be a rule that if they take your money for a flight they have to honor the flight (I understand about cost vs. # of passengers), but heh, this is just doesn't seem right.

American Airlines did this to us our last trip - they changed it months ahead too - it ended up being the earliest flight (from 6:30am - 9am) I was so angry - I told them it was bait and switch (of course not legally BUT they baited me with the time, and all things considered with Southwest, I went with AA - Ohare vs Midway, assigned seats vs Southwest - and then BAM AA switched the times -

like they care about my opinion - I booked this time with United, (again, same prices) if they switch, I'm going to stay with SWA!!

we have a decent flight out in the morning-like 830 from maine to NC, then a 3 hour wait, but usulaly something always goes wrong somewhere, so I wont mind the wait, plus I heard that KRISPY KREME'S[/COLOR]
are sold there....so I can at least eat... :rotfl: :lmao:
