I am so bummed. Apparently I had a code last year.

I am totally bumming over here. I called Disney to see if I had a code attached to my name, and the CM said no... BUT that last year I had one on my name that was added last January. I asked him there was any way he could apply that code to me now since I never knew about the code. He said no. I am so upset because I went to Disney in March 07, and no CM ever mentioned this code to me when I was booking the trip. What a bummer!

Same thing happened to me. I had a trip booked for April, 07, and apparently, there was a code attached to my name which the CM either missed or didn't bother to tell me about. How can that be?
You can believe I'm paying more attention this year as I plan!!!!!

Exactly grannyminnie! I really didn't know anything about the codes until I joined this site this week. Now that I know I am watching all my emails very closely. But apparently the CM said there is nothing there on my name. I wonder if there is still a chance that one could be added, or is it too late.

I don't think it's too late, because as I understand it, new emails and postcards are still being sent out with the codes, so why not a code added to our names any day now?? At least that's what I'm crossing my fingers for...

That really stinks. There is no telling how many families miss out on codes attached to their names because they never knew they existed. If Disney would just send a postcard for every code, it would be so much more fair. I think Disney's strategy is to send out X number of codes and they bank of x percentages of those codes being used.

The CM I spoke with yesterday said that they aren't allow to "offer" codes and discounts, you have to ask for them. So, I guess we need to ask everytime we go to make reservations in the future.

Well that is good to hear, grannyminnie. I will be keeping my fingers crossed over here.

The thing about the codes for me is if I had known last year that I had a discount, and it was for a time that would not apply for my trip in 3/07, I certainly would have looked into booking a second trip. So basically Disney lost out on my possible second trip by not informing me that I had a code.

Well, me too...I'd plan even more trips if I had codes attached to my name!! More money from me, a happier Disney organization....win/win situation for us both!!
