Thank you for this! I wondered what they were putting in there. That area is going to be HUGE, and I'm from Texas, where everything is big. I'm so excited to see that they are going to have a Stride Rite outlet. My kids all have wide feet, and I haven't been able to buy them shoes in stores since we moved here. I'm getting a lot of bonus points on Shoebuy.com, but it will be nice to be able to go to a store and buy shoes when they need them right away.

Just FYI, yes, you can. Laurie's Shoes on Manchester in Glendale has all the special-sized kids shoes you could ever need. (There is a location in Chesterfield Mall, but the selection there isn't as broad.)

I didn't know they had another location. Thanks! I tried the one at the mall, but they have so few shoes available in wide widths, and none of the ones they have in stock are ever my kids' size. One of the employees suggested that I just buy the shoes a size too big. I'll have to check out the other location.

Has anyone mentioned the transportation museum? That's pretty good, too. The collection of cars isn't too exciting, but they do tours inside the passenger cars of the trains throughout the day, and that's really good. My kids read a lot of older books (because I can get them for free on their Kindles), and the people in those books are always traveling by train. It was neat for them to get to see what those train cars are really like.

My DS10 loves the transportation museum. He's a train fanatic, so it's right up his alley. DD13 and DD6 never really cared for it much.

If your boys like trains, be sure to take them over to the The Wabash Frisco and Pacific Railroad over in the Glencoe/Wildwood area. They have mini trains that you can ride. Substantially smaller than the ones at the zoo, but bigger than the one that Walt Disney had in his backyard. The trains only run on Sundays, but it's only like 3 bucks a person. Everyone in my family loves it when we head that way for a visit.

Also, if your boys like to skateboard, scooter, and/or bmx, there is a really nice skatepark in O'Fallon (Dardenne Prarie) at 40/Hwy N. Best/largest in the region and lots of fun!! http://parks.sccmo.org/parks/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=24

yeah St. Louis! I love reading all these suggestions--most of them we've done many times. It is always amazing to me that their Wonderful Zoo is FREE! And so is the Science Center!

If the Cardinals happen to be in town when you are jump on Stub Hub and see if you can grab last minute tickets. Sometimes you can get them for $10 or less.

I'm with NotUrsula on STL style pizza - Blech!! It's tolerable with multiple toppings, but otherwise no way. If you want to try it, go ahead. But, it's not for everyone (and I'm a native).

Well, I'll go on the record as one of the St. Louis style pizza fans. I really like it a lot. As for Imo's, if you don't like provel cheese, they will make it with mozzarella if you ask. (for STL style we prefer Pio's in St. Charles or Stephenina's). That, being said, I spent a couple years in Chicago and I love a good deep dish. I also lived in Richmond for a couple years and enjoyed NY style pizza a lot too. I wouldn't eat St. Louis style all the time, but I love it every now and then. Our favorite STL pizza chain is Fortel's Pizza Den. Not really STL style, but YUM!!!
