I am planning a trip for Early September

to Disneyland - probably the 1st thru the 4th. I think this is probably labor day weekend. How are the crowds at that time? How can I find out what attractions are closed? I have heard that Space Mountain is closed. Will it be open by then?

It'll be pretty crowded. I doubt Space Mountain will be open before November, but I did hear Sept once, but who knows when.

Before my son started school, we used to go to DL over Labor Day. The parks are crowded during the weekend, but then beginnig that Tuesday, they are dead. In the past we would be amazed at how much stuff got closed overnight between Monday and Tuesday. But I think with the 50th celebration, most of the rehab is being done now, so that there will be minimal closures later in the year.

As for Space Mountain, yes the offical opening is posted as November, but many many sources are saying that it is more likely to open in the summer. Not for the May kick off but probably by July 17.

My husband and I spent 5 days at DLR for our honeymoon following our Sept. 5th wedding last year (and Sept. 5th was labor day weekend). So, I'm not sure how it was that weekend but I would assume it was fairly busy only because that does tend to be the kick off of the end of Summer vacation.

The week we were there we thought the crowds were rather moderate in size and felt the residual of the labor day weekend crowds were still hangin' around. Even on Mon-Thursday. But they weren't typical summer crowds so we got to ride everything we wanted numerous times.

Also, I am not sure if this is a yearly thing, but September is when the new primetime shows debut and whatnot so it might have been busy the time we went because of all the tv stars/personalities that made appearances at DCA.

BTW, the weather was still pretty hot that time!
