I was talking to my cousin (22) who is a bartender at a local bar. I asked him what age most of their customers were. He told me "All ages, but mostly middle aged, you know 30-35" :scared1:

LOL Then I'm over middle aged....LOL He wouldn't have a clue if I walked into his bar tho, he'd think I was definitely under middle aged. LOL

I think we established 40ish is middle age in the is 41 old thread

OMG, I am middle aged? Guess I better grab my cane when we head to the world!

Whoa! Didn't see that coming.

I always figured middle-aged was 40-60, and after 60 was, well, old. But in the best possible way. ;)

 Yeah, I'm middle aged too. When I turned 50 three years ago my baby sister took the opportunity to remind me that i was Officially Half a Century. Thanks Sis. And oh by the way--what goes around comes around. She's 45. I lie in wait:cool2:

I'd always considered 45 to be "middle-aged," but this thread got me curious...and I couldn't resist the power of Google. ;)

"Middle age is the period of life beyond young adulthood but before the onset of old age. Various attempts have been made to define this age, which is around the third quarter of the average life span of human beings.

According to Collins Dictionary, this is '... usually considered to occur approximately between the ages of 40 and 60'."

Fear not, OP!

:lmao: Considering that most people live to mid 80's to 90 now, that's just one third of a person's life. And that's NOT taking into consideration that when a now 30 year old reaches 90, hopefully medical technology will improve so much in the next 60 years, that 90 will be the new 50. :yay:

30-35 is not middle aged! Goodness, this guy must think that 50 year olds are elderly retirees.

I'm 51, but what I have going for me is that I'm the youngest of 5, and I will always be The Youngest, which I do on occasion remind 1 through 4. :teeth: My nieces are in their late thirties...they're catching up. :)

And I don't consider myself middle aged. :scared1:

I guess technically 35 - 40ish is middle aged, but I don't see it that way at all. To me middle aged is around 55 through 65.

I'm sorry, but a middle aged woman has already gone through menopause, in my book. No way is a woman in her forties middle aged.

OP here!! I am 30 and dont consider myself middle aged at all!! I remember when 30 was ancient, and now that I'm here, it doesnt seem so old after all :goodvibes

I'm in my late 40's and I definitely consider myself middle aged. I'd have to live to almost 100 for half my life not to have passed. That doesn't stop me from sometimes considering myself young and also sometimes considering myself old.
