I am joining those that DO NOT LIKE SPLIT STAYS!!!!!

You guys are scaring me. :scared1: Our Oct. trip will be our first split stay. DH wasn't too thrilled but we couldn't get AKV Concierge for the first night. So we are staying at Kadani the first night. I don't think it should be too bad since it is the same resort. We decided we won't even get our Owner's Locker until the second day so we don't have to mess with it. Then we will just take our bags to bell service at Jambo House when we check out of Kadini. That should work right?

I don't think that'll be bad at all being at the same resort. While I wouldn't choose to do a split stay, I would do it if I had to! Have a great trip!

We take so much stuff with us since we drive that a split stay would be totally impractical. I see the appeal but it isn't for us. We take a bunch of food and drinks and totally unpack and don't want to have to repack and check in again. No thank you!
We are in your corner about split stays. We look like the Beverly Hillbillies moving in so once we are in place I do not like to move. We did a split with OKW and BLT and it always seemed that whatever I needed was still in the car waiting for the BLT leg of the trip. I must be getting old but once was enough.

Exactly! That creative packing thing never worked for me. You need more than you think to make it thru a 24 hour period!!:rotfl: DS's dont want to leave their games, handhelds in the car/packed, they need chargers, you need all your toiletries, a change of clothes, bed clothes, swimwear for your homeless time, a daybag etc! It is just easier to unpack!:scared1:

And sooo laughing at your BH comment!!:lmao:That was us, checking into OKW for our last nite after 12 nights at THV. It was pouring down rain and Dh just threw everything into the van. We knew we were only going next door to OKW, but I was mortified to go thru the security gate. We were sitting on top of stuff! We repacked the van at OKW after it stopped raining:laughing:

Nutty4Disney, I highly recommend you try to get your villa at Jambo House for your night before CL. This is the 1 split I dont mind. Jambo Villas are on the 5th floor and CL is on 6. I normally go down first thing in the morning to Bell Services so they can take me to 6 for check in, while everyone is still sleeping. Get us checked in and hang out in Villa and CL lounge til room is ready. Very easy split and the perfect use of Value Villas if you can get it;) Moving from CL to Jambo is just as easy.

And Ownerslocker makes it home!! I unpack it, plug in my Wallflowers, unpack my wine, and put the magnets on the fridge. After that, I am home and do not want to move!:wizard:

We were "forced" to do a split stay last New Years week, because our waitlist never did come thru for for a 1BR @ BLT for NYE. We ended up staying at ASMu that night, which wasn't horrible, especially since we checked in, took a nap & then headed to Epcot for the evening & we were gone again & back to BLT the next day. I just never felt like I could settle in the first night at BLT, because I knew we had to move & then waited for EVER for Bell services to come & get our luggage at ASMu & then waited for the delivery at BLT & they were a bit rude on the phone when I called to ask about our luggage. They said it would be a while & we couldn't go anywhere until it was delivered.

We would've had to move again, but we talked to the Mngr @ the Contemporary & he let us "downgrade" from a Lake view to the horrible standard view we already had. ;) Ha ha just kidding it was a great view of the MK even if we were on a lower floor & we just ignored the housekeeping staging area right below our window. I could've kissed that Mngr because I really don't think I could've taken 4 different accommodations in one week!

I feel your pain. While I do not like to move around much, and I thought I purchased enough points not to have to move, the point reallocation got me and now I am back to split stays. Here is what I did. I purchased my extra night at AKL, so easy move to AKV, a total of 8 nights between the two bookings, and then 7 nights OKW. While I hate to move, this was as painless as I could make it. I'm just not big on being homeless for nearly a whole day!

I hear you about ASMU. In Nov. 09..we spent Thanksgiving night at that resort in a family suite after staying a week at SSR in a 2 br. I could never get that night on the waitlist at SSR. We left the next day, but that one night cured me of ever wanting to stay at a Value resort. :scared1:
