I am here at the Contemporary with some good news

Ok everyone my family and I have just checked into the Contemporary on the Atrium Club in room 4847 which is a Magic Kingdom View and I found out some very good news. The food part of the Food & Fun Center is still open, so that means as of right now there is no temporary counter service location. I have not been in there yet to see what mugs they are selling, so I will do that later on.

Aside frm that check-in was perefct and I found out some news about the 3 hour parking passes for guests not staying at the Contemporary. They are a lot more strict about them and I was told they are towing a lot more now then in the past. Plus the parking passes for guests staying at the Contemporary now say our names, so they match them to our KTTW cards.

I just checked the Food & Fun Center and I can confirm that they are still selling the Purple and Red lid Contemporary mugs and they are not selling the YOAMD mugs.

I also forgot to mention that as of right now the lobby is not being renovated, a Cast Member told me they are doing it in sections. As of right now the bell desk on the inside has been renovated.

Thats great news about the Food Center. Have they given you any info about when it is going to close? We arrive on August 19th and it would be great if it was still open. Thanks for any information you can get!

I think the food area of the Food & Fun Center is now suppost to close sometime in September.

I also have been taking a lot of pics with my camera phone, however it's going to be easier for me to post them when I get home.

Now my family and I just got from Downtown Disney and we will be going off to the Grand Floridian.

i hate to bother you on your vacation, but are you by chance giving us these reports from your rooms FREE computer and internet service? If the rooms still have these free computers and internet, is there a usb port that could be used to upload digital photos to the network? I'm just trying to plan ahead for my trip and I'm hoping we could use that to free up memory on our camera each night

Yes I am giving these reports from the computer in our room, so that obviously means it's still free. However I don't see any usb port to insert for you're photos from you're digital camera.

The area where the North Garden Wing is the way it has been in all the other pictures people have posted. Basically a huge construction site with a lot of dirt.

I don't know when in September the rest of the Food & Fun Center would be closing and considering everyone thought it was suppost to close on July 30th since that was in the schedule of renovations, I guess someone will have to be here in September to report of it's closing.

I just asked a Cast Member who works at Contemporary Grounds and she told me it is true they are closing on Sunday and they plan to re-open in the future by the convention center.
