We just found out yesterday. She is in pretty bad shape. She doesn't have health insurance, so she really let it go for a long time.

We came back from Disney on Saturday. Sunday was DH's birthday, so my mom and niece came over for cake. DM called me into the bathroom to show me something. Well, I almost fainted. It is really bad.

She went to the Breast Center yesterday, and they immediately sent her to the Cancer Center. I was having a CT scan at the same time, but I did manage to get there before they called her back. The oncologist didn't give us much hope. She has a PET scan and biopsy scheduled for Thursday, then we meet with the oncologist on Monday to get all the results and a plan.

I feel a deep ache all the way to my soul.

Sweetie. I am so sorry to hear this.

I will keep your DM and your family in my prayers. Try and stay as positive as you can. :grouphug:

UGH! There's nothing I hate worse than seeing that this terrible disease has struck yet another victim.

Sadly, too many of us have dealt with this. I'll pray that your family is offered some hope. Know that we're here for you. :grouphug:

's TruBlu. Prayers and good wishes are with your mom.

Just passing on personal experience with our family...back in 1998, DW, Marie, was diagnosed with Stage III breast cancer, wit ha LOT of lymph node involvement. She has been in remission now for 11 years. It was a tough go, surgery, chemo, radiation, but so far...

You and mom have to be her own advocates, don't take no for an answer. Fight, with all you have.

Again, best wishes.'s

Many  to you! My grandmother is fighting Stage IV BC now. She won her battle 17 yrs ago and now it has come back to her lymph nodes. She has been fighting well over a year now and is doing really well with her treatments.

Be sure to ask the social worker at the Cancer Center for information on what programs there are to help her. They have all sorts of resources and I am sure they can find something to help her with these expenses.

 Hugs and prayers for your mom and you.

I am battling cancer myself and I iknow how important it is to be positive, keep fighting and be surrounded by lots of loving people and I am sure your mom is blessed by having such a caring dd in you.

Blessings to you as you face this difficult time together.

Hugs for you and your family. Cancer is a horrid thing. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Mom has a PET scan and biopsy tomorrow. I have a 10:30 meeting with my surgeon to set up my surgery, but I'm hoping I get out in time to go with my mom too. I'm not dealing with this very well at all. I can't stop crying, and I haven't told my boys. They are worried that I'm sick, but I just can't tell them yet. I'm going to wait until after Easter.

My thoughts and prayers are with your mom and family now. You will know more when you get the PET scan results and then you can focus on treatment. Breast cancer is tough but they have made remarkable improvements to survivorbility and cutting edge ways to fight it.

Please let us know how your mom is doing and lean on others for support.:grouphug:

We are paying the health insurance for my in-laws for EXACTLY this reason. I could not live with myself taking all my trips to Disney and spending money on "things" while Alan's parents would have no health insurance.

They are the type that if they have no health insurance, they would not go to a doctor. Preventive care is key.

Its not fun to spend $900 a month for the insurance, but it beats the alternative. My in-laws are precious to me!

Good luck to the OP and family.

I hope that they can set up a treatment plan for her and maybe give her some remission from this cancer. The key word, as Dan said, is fight and you fight with every ounce of your being. Keep your spirits up and stand beside your Mom as she battles this beast..

Hugs.

I'm new here, but want to let you know that you'll be in my thoughts.

It's so hard to go through this with someone you love. You want so much to keep them from suffering, and it hurts when you can't protect them from it.

I hope that during the weeks and months ahead, you and your mom are able to feel even closer than you have in the past. And that you are both surprised my moments of joy that there is no earthly explanation for. Not a false, cheery joy, but the kind of hopeful inner strength that carries you forward when you thought
you couldn't go on.

I will pray for her health and for strength for you both. I know it is hard to fight when you have grief and shock to deal with but you can do it. Hold on to HOPE.

Take care of yourself, too. I know you will find that you are stronger than you thought you were.:grouphug:

Our news was - in my opinion - fantastic. My mom does have a huge tumor and it has spread to her lymph nodes and skin, but only locally. It has not spread anywhere else!!!!! :woohoo: So, with mastectomy, chemo., and radiation, they think they can get it ALL!!!!! :cheer2:

We know it is going to be hard, but we are ready to fight, or as DS9 said...
"Granny, we are not just going to fight it. We are going to BEAT it like a DAWG!" :goodvibes

Good news.. aggressive fighting is the way to go after Cancer.. Keep us in the loop.

That is amazing news!!! :banana::banana::banana:

I love your son's attitude. Add me to the cheering squad for your Mom's recovery. :cheer2:

many hugs and prayers trublu...i know what you are going through. i lost my mom to breast cancer. may God carry her and your family in your time of need.
