I am hearing a lot about After Hours events, what are they?

That's a great idea but for two people it is $330.16 US. That's insane, but will you really get that many more rides in?
It really is a personal value thing. The first time we did it we paid $75 each and the park was empty, felt like it was closed and we rode everything. Second time we paid maybe $125 each and only because 2 in group had no daytime for parks, and they were able to do most in the park ride wise. Two of us were AP so we didn't get the value but enjoyed being with our friends.

For me with an AP, not worth current prices, especially since there are a lot more people going to it. For some folks it is worth it. We found we literally ran ride to ride to ride to get our monies worth. I think it is a good idea for people like our friends that didn't have regular tickets. You'll likely get varying answers cause like I said it is really personal.

Thanks, it would be for our sons 18 and 21, not such much for the adults. We had 2-day park hopper passes and want to make sure they hit all the rides they desire since we got two nights and the park hoppers free due to something 8 years ago.

Since you ask about being "eligible" -- I'll just throw this out there in case it's been confusing in what you've heard/read...
In addition to the Disney After Hours events the PP discusses to which any guest may buy a ticket, WDW offers Extended Evening Hours to guests who are staying at a deluxe resort.
I haven't paid attention to the calendar lately, but usually these are a couple of specific evenings per week at specific parks.

Thanks for the heads up. We are staying at Pop, so, I guess that means we are out

Extended Evening Hours and Disney After Hours are not the same. I am a DVC Member/ Deluxe guest and was not impressed with Extended Hours at Epcot (the only one I've done). When the park closes it was an hour later before park guests were ushered out. I did not get to ride but a couple of rides. A nice perk to have but not the same as the paid event.
Disney After Hours Party at HS was a blast for the 6 of us, 4 in their 20's. We walked on and rode several rides sometimes more than once. Yes it's pricey but for us worth it since we were there New Years week 2022 and the parks were packed.
At the After Hours event you have to show your arm band, only ticket guest could remain in the park. The park felt empty in comparison to earlier in the day.
Also at the After Hours Party you get unlimited popcorn, ice cream and bottled drinks. Took extra drinks back to the room.
Luckily when I'm at Disney in February there will be an Extended Evening Hours at HS and I've already booked.
Of all the park ticket money I've spent, to me this was the best.
I have not attended the After Party at MK. Would love to but it hasn't been available during my stays.
Hope my post has helped.

I think you get the most value out of the tickets if you use them on a day that you are not using other park tickets. Like if you are going to MK all day, then paying for the After hours event, there is some overlap because After Hours ticket holders can enter a bit early, in time for fireworks. I find that they pair great with a pool or waterpark day, then head to the parks and enter as early as the ticket allows.
