I am having a wonderful day now!!

I edited my post, but not in time before the gestapo had time to quote me.

Gepetto, unless you are willing to report the so called purse snobs, why bother complaining about it?

Snoops,

This flea market is a combination of new things, estate sales just about everything.

You can find gorgeous old jewelry from the early 1900s (you know things that you wouldn't find in a legitamate store:rolleyes: ) Depression glass, antiques etc. There is one lady who deals in only estate sale jewelry. She has gorgeous cameos and sterling silver charm bracelets. Then there is another booth with framed prints of just about anything you can imagine. These run anywhere from $20 - $80 dollars. Anyone can buy a booth so there are homemade arts and crafts and a lot of churches have bake sales. There are animal breeders from the Memphis ares and coin collectors....Its a real menagire (sp??) of everything and so much fun.

There aren't any clothing knock-offs though or purse knock offs I think you are talking about a different type of sale. Don't get me wrong those do come but its not called a flea market, at least not down here.

Hey Snoops I love thrift store finds. I found 2 REAL Dooney purses for $20 bucks each and my favorite a REAL Coach for $30! You can also find Eagle Eye Sweaters for little or nothing there! The sad part is 90 percent of the stuff still has the original tag on it.

Oh and for the new stuff we will head out to the Wolfchase Galleria after the flea market....not nearly as much fun as rummaging through peoples old junk:rolleyes:    but still fun and they do have a Disney store:)

So Gepetto, you can afford a $ 500 purse? I must be in the wrong field then.

Is it better to buy the $20 fake so everyone will THINK you can afford a $500 purse? After all, why else would you buy the fake ones?

Same reason some people drive a Lexus or Mercedes but live in a matchbox of a house or apt.

You know, Beth, the first thing I thought of when you said flea market are the arts-and-crafts dealers.

The one I go to has tons of them. They sell great stuff like dried flower wreaths and swags, hand-painted items like umbrella stands and mailboxes, and all sorts of unusual decorative items.

With a big, new, beautiful house like yours, I hope you’ll find lots of great stuff. Enjoy. :D

Lol, I own a Nine West bag that I bought for about $40.00. I just haven't goten cynical and jaded enough, to really care what someone elses motives are when buying a purse. You should try it you may like it!:D

I'm with "gestapo" on this one. I'd rather pay for a good quality purse than be a poser and make people think I was all that and a bag of chips.

Autumn is a GREAT time for any outdoor social gatherings-flea markets, farmer's markets, street fairs, oktoberfests, apple pickin'-thanks for sharing. ;)

Now, now Bumbles you sound so cynical too. It must get old being so bitter all of the time. I'm leaving...this is so nauseating as usual!

Not bitter at all.....just not into social trappings and brandnames...give me quality. If I get quality for $20 or $200 I don't care.

Get some pepto for the nausea..it works wonders! Feel better hon!

See I AM ALL THAT and a bag of chips so what other people think really doesn't concern me.

I'm leaving...this is so nauseating as usual!
ROTFLMAO...ain't that the truth!

I have a Coach knock-off that I love, its very well made. I bought it not thinking about a) whether or not the designers would be hurting, or b) what people thought about my purse. I bought it cuz' I liked it and it was of good quality.

Beauty, that flea market sounds like something I would love. I love antique jewerly. My wedding rings are antique, and while they are the only valuable antique pieces I own, its fun to rummage through old gems.

Beauty :D

See, the difference is, I don't need designer trappings to make me all that and a bag of chips....it's all here naturally :) :) All by God's good grace :)

Minniebrioche--will you pass Beauty the pepto when you're done with it..thanks!

The jewelry is my favorite. I love to look at the old Sterling Silver Charm Bracelets and think about the people who wore them. But like I said I love history.

There are some gorgeous gems! My mother bought about a 7 ct. sapphire for under $100 dollars and had it set in my grandfathers wedding band. It is simply gorgeous!!

I hear you Beauty!:D

Actually Bumbles that was a good come back!:D I'm sorry if I was kind of harsh in responding to Gepetto and Bumbles. Am I still here, have I been turned into 'persona non grata yet?';)

Okay really, I hope that everyone has a great weeekend!:D

Bumbles dear I don't think your keeping up.....I said that I DO NOT buy the designer knockoffs....I am a purse snob I buy the real things. Pay attention dear!

That's a little cocky, isn't it?

Yeah it is...but hey just stating the truth. My belief has always been that as long as your telling the truth about yourself or anyone else then your not REALLY talking about them.

See I've been called a *B* by some....thats okay with me because its simply the truth....I'm sure you'll agree.

Feel better soon! :D
