I have just booked our first DCL cruise (really our second- we were supposed to cruise with DCL for our honeymoon in June 1998 but the boat was not finished- found out 4 weeks prior) for Sept. 5. My husband is graduating from grad school and this is his gift! Pretty nice gift for all of us! The reason I am going crazy is that I CAN'T WAIT!!! I feel like a little kid going to Disney for the first time! We will be taking our son (who will be 5 while on the boat) and I just can't wait to see his face when he sees the Magic Kingdom for the first time (we will be at WDW for three days after the DCL). I have had 7 wonderful family vacations and my 2 week honeymoon there.
I think my husband thinks I am crazy! I love to look at web sites about Disney and read any travel book on it. I have almost everything planned to a tee! How do I calm myself down??? Are there others like me? I do have alot of hobbies that keep me busy but Disney has over come me for the moment! Do I need a support group????:yo-yo:
I would love to chat with others with the same "problem":Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hi my name is Tandy and I'm a dis aholic, happily! It is a wonderful affliction to have.

I have no answers on what to do before you get to your cruise, maybe just enjoy the excitement.

Please know you are not alone.

Thanks Tandy!

I feel much better knowing there are more of us out there!

Today I even went to my local scrapbook store and bought Disney scrapbook stickers and sheets! I have lost it! The cruise is in Sept. - that is alittle too much prep!

Hi my name is Cheryl and I'm a dis aholic (and I'm from WI too). I too love to read travel books about Disney and spend time reading about it on the net even if we don't have a trip planned. I think I own every year eddition of the Birnbaum guide since 1993 and bags of brochures and park guides going back that far too. My DH thinks I'm crazy but what better addiction could a person have LOL. Spending time on the DIS is a great way to pass the time as you wait for your trip to get here!! Even though we have been to WDW many times and we have been on 2 cruises I feel like I am always learning good tips on these boards that help make our vacations so wonderful!

Have a wonderful trip in Sept. and have fun anticipating it!!

Hi, my name is Jennifer and I am a DIS aholic. I have been on 2 Disney cruises and we have one booked for this December. I check the boards everyday and I still dream about the cruises. I would go crazy without this support group

Glad to see more frozen cheeseheads!!

Hi, my name is Gail and I am a DIS aholic. We are from Indiana and we go twice a year, May and end of Nov.-Dec. Then last Mar. I took my first ever cruise and of course it was Disney and we are going on another cruise in May. We are 54 and I'm wondering if we're too old to be this addicted. My family and co-workers think my husband and I need help. Maybe we do need a support group, LOL.

Hi - my name is Dawn and I'm a DIS-aholic too! Ever since I booked our family's cruise 2 weeks ago, I have been obsessed!!! I can't think of anything else - I'm even planning our days down to the minute! ARG! And we're not going 'til November!!! This is going to be the longest summer of my life! We live only 1 1/2 hours from Disneyland and have annual passes, so we'll have to make quite a few trips just to keep me satisfied! I get on these boards every day - usually 4 or 5 times throughout the day - it's shameful! I can't get enough information about the Disney cruise and have 6 things I requested from the library until I can get over to the book store - ha! Reminder: tonight on the Travel Channel is the Disney Cruise special - 6pm PST and 9pm EST!!!!!

Hey Chreryl N---I noticed that you are from Muskego too! :D
Small world! Do you have any kids? We just signed up our DD for kindergarten last night!

My husband & I are becoming DISholics. We have been to WDW one went on our first DC Sept 02. I have booked another 7 night Western for Feb 05 which will be over my husbands 40th B-day.

Hi,
I'm Paul and I'm a Dis aholic from Superior WI. My first cruise is on May 20 on the Wonder and I've become obsessed with this trip. I read everything I can on the whole process just to give me a quick fix.

Btw, I've spent alot of time in Oconomowoc when I was younger at Olympia resort.

Hi, my name is Gloria and I am a Dis-aholic. I cannot believe I have become totally obsessed with Disney.

Before I had kids, my husband and sister-in-law were the ones that always wanted to go. I said, every couple of years is enough. Well, my tune was changed the first time we went with our daughter.

I started planning our next trip (12 nights---yeah!!!) the day we got back from our last trip. They both are so tired now of hearing about it. My nephew (9) and I are the ones now planning every minute.

I even kept my children up late last night just to watch the special on DCL.

So..... you are not alone and I am very glad to hear that I am not alone also. I do think, however, I spend too much time on these boards.

Cheryl: I too also buy the Birbaum books every year. I now even buy them for my children who are 4 & 5. This year I also purchased the "Unoffical Guide" and I am even thinking about buying the Passporter.

WDG, you've found the right place! These boards are full of people that share your obsession. Welcome!

Oooh, I haven't bought a new guidebook this year. My family loves Disney almost as much as I do, the cruise, our DVC. But they don't get why I need a new guidebook every year when I could probably write one! So which one has the best pictures?

As for guides with pictures, the Birnbaum guide is the only one that will have any pictures in them. The rest will have drawings since they are not the "Official" guide". That doesn't make them any less important when it comes to good information though. I just bought the Passporter for the cruise and its a really good book for information. I would recommend it highly.

yep...ditto what she said...isn't this Wisconsin weather enough to make you want to go somewhere warm! Planning the trip at least gets you thinking about a warmer climate. Works for me!

Cheryl...also from Wisconsin...also addicted to the DIS...also freezing my you-know-what off.
