After all these years of doing it myself.....I am calling in a landscaper. I just can't haul wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of dirt.

Because of the construction, the job is just too big this time. besides...this job would take me weeks and with a bobcat is can be done in a day.

I'm going to let them move the dirt around, haul in the loam and shape the beds.

I'm going to do the planting though...the best part.

Sounds like a plan to me!!!

I have thought about doing the same thing. I have 2 areas that need some dirt hauled in and shifted around. The only thing that has kept me from doing it is the cost. I keep thinking that the cost will be astronomical yet I haven't had anyone come to give me an estimate.

It's good to get help with big projects and just adding in your special touches.

I always knew you were a smart woman, Vanessa!! Sounds like an excellent idea, go for it!!! ::yes:: :D

How is the addition coming along? Any new pics to share? It must be coming together very nicely by now, right? Nosy, nosy me! :teeth:

Chessie, make the call and find out! :) The cost may not be as exorbitant as you think it is! :)

Sounds like a backsaving idea.

What they do in a day takes me a year. All you'll have to do is plant! And plant! And plant! How wonderful to have all the gardens ready to creat your Masterpiece!

As I'm sitting here tonight with an achy back, sore arms, sore hips, sore hiney, sore legs, and sore feet I'm thinking hiring a landscaper is a great idea! :faint: I spent the day moving dirt and plants around and I'm exhausted. Go for it. You deserve to have fun.

Sounds like a very good plan to me. Gives you more time and energy to enjoy your plantings. Besides, planting the small stuff is hard enough.

Aw - don't think of it as "giving up". Think of it as "treating yourself" and "saving your back" and allowing for "creative juices" to flow as you plan what to do in these new beautiful gardens, backdropped with your beautiful new extension!

Finally!!!

3 guys spent yesterday hauling out sand, debris and spreading loam in the back. Today they are doing the front, marking out the gardens and spreading seed!!!!
I can't tell you how wonderful it is to watch for a change...LOL

::yes:: <---- That does not just represent my agreement in thinking that this is a great idea. It also represents my jealousy of what you are having done!!!

LOL!

Hmm..... Enjoy the simple things in life..... Like watching the guys work with their muscles bulging and the sweat pouring off their brawny backs. I certainly hope they are good-looking hunks, what could be simpler than that!!? :D And next Spring, enjoy your new home and yard!

They spread 53 yards of loam...thank goodness it was them. LOL

Oh and tuli....no good looking men,,,bummer.

Ahhh... to sit back and watch someone else spread the loam and plant the seed. Your body is thanking you! That's a good thing.: Enjoy!

Too bad the hot guys aren't really hot.
