I am devestated! my LLS is closing!

I just can't believe it! I have no idea why! I just found out tonight on a message board! This store was so wonderful! Spent a lot of money over the past several years! I hope she is closing because her magazine is taking off and she needs to devote more time to that. She founded Simply Sentiments a wonderful card magazine that had so many ideas.
Next week she is having a 50% off sale. This is a sad day for me........

How sad! As far as I know there aren't any near me - well at least without taking a trek - and our Jo-Ann's is just a fabric store so I'm stuck with Michaels & AC Moore.

On the bright side, sales sound good!

Sondra - I'm sad for you but happy for Sherry. It must have been a hard decision for her to make but it means the magazine is a big hit! (though I haven't seen a copy yet up here) Hopefully this will give her a bit more time with her family.

Maybe you'll find lots of great stuff at the 50% off sale!

At least there are lots of great online stores!! LOL!! One I found recently and LOVE is scrappydreams.com, BUT she doesn't carry Disney stuff. She offers free shipping!!

Just curious which P.A. store is closing? I've been to several in P.A. and especially liked the one I think in Butler? I can't remember the name of it, but it was HUGE!

It's a shame someone couldn't take over the store for her! Hope you find a new LSS! I'd die if I only had JoAnn's and Michael's to go to!

The store is Sadie's Sentiments. She is located in Avondale PA
Such a fantastic store. ONe of the best i have been in for variety. I try to stop in as many scrapping stores as I can on vacation and in my travels!

I don't know what I would do if my LSS closed down. I have met so many wonderful people since the store opened almost 4 years ago. I would find somewhere to buy my supplies but I would never be able to replace the friendships and camaraderie of the staff and costumers. Since Recollections has moved into town it has hurt a few of our LSSs. One announced her closing a few weeks ago. It's really sad. My LSS has just moved into a big bright 3200 sq. ft space and is doing quite well. Spinning, come on down sometime. Bring your tote and we can scrap and have lunch.

Chessie I would love to meet up with you! You were one of the first "Person" I met on these boards so many years ago! I know I plan to come down for the flea market. I think that is in April.
Also Maggie, Pam and Judith M have talked about meeting at the new Mike's. so maybe we can arrange something.
You are so right about the friends you make at these stores. Luckily I will still keep in touch with a few of them since we seem to always end up at the same crops. And the owner is still going to be at this location. She is now taking it over for her magazine. So I will pop in from time to time. Sherry really was so kind to me when I was scrapping books for my friend who was dying. She allowed me to get stuff at cost that I normally wouldn't have be able to buy. So I do wish her all the best.....

I have always missed the flea market because I have had to work my real job on the days it was held. I hope it will be on my weekend off this year and I'll be able to meet up with all of you. I haven't heard the dates. April is not that far off.
