Recently I was scanning for summer availability for VDH and saw that a garden duo room was available for the 4th of July weekend. However, when I got to the part where you choose the points to use, I found I was just short of points to be able to book it. So I scrambled to one of my other reservations to drop a day from it and then tried to get the 4th of July weekend again, but it was gone. I thought maybe someone else had also seen it or the waitlist monster grabbed it, so I sulked and just kept poking around in other availability. About 15 minutes later, I went back to that room type and was looking at September availability but scrolled the calendar to July and the room was available again!! I'm guessing that it gets caught up in some hold for a bit of time, but then gets released if the reservation isn't scheduled. So, if you are hunting and see a room but then it slips away, check again in a bit because it might pop back up!

Its half an hour when this happens to me. Yes if you leave the reservation and dont click the correct button to drop it the system will temporarily disappear it. This happens to MS too if they mess up and you have to wait. I am so excited that Disney is doing a 3 day fireworks celebration for the 4th!

I scored a week in an island garden studio in june and 4 nights in ocean view studio. Working on flipping that ocean view to island garden but will be happy nonetheless if it remains this way!

Feel very fortunate to be going during this time although the flight prices are really making me cringe right now and im not sure if I should wait it out and hope that maybe its being affected by this govt shutdown?

I read its because the fuel prices are so damn high right now and I dont see that changing anytime soon. Every article is advising to buy now regardless of these crazy prices and are predicting it will get worse for the summer so I guess I'll take the plunge

yeah, I just bought my tickets today for my May WDW trip. I normally buy much earlier, but I was greedy and wanted the prices to go down. Unfortunately the flight/airline I wanted has only gone up since January when I was first tracking it. And since it's not getting better, I bought now.
