I am coining the term... DVC Slots!

Yes its gotten real rough out there, im not getting anything. I take that back i did complete a 6 night bwv garden studio in two months, but I thought for sure a boardwalk one bedroom resort view would have popped up in a couple months and nada.

I haven't been AS aggressive. I used to refresh 4-30+ times per hour and now its been more like once every 1-2 hours but after a day at the beach tomorrow to gather my thoughts its on and popping I'll be refreshing like a madwoman again until my vacation or room is found

Right the slots are tight lately, I guess the big fish commercial renters got over the checkbox.

So now the Disney pit boss must intervene and throw the card counters out lol and let us casual gamblers reign. Im not even making sense anymore, time for bed

I have never played the slots at booking opening time, not sure why it never dawned on me that things move around at 8am EST. The 7 month window opens up tomorrow for a reservation I want. I would go a day earlier but it's booked. Alarm went off I almost didnt get up. Drug myself out of bed and searched several times, I was thinking let me practice for tomorrow the big day. Went to the bathroom and said let me search one more time since Im awake (barely) I pulled the lever again (searched) and boom what I wanted had opened up for the day before so I could book today! Now I am wide awake because I was panicked and couldn't decide whats points to use. All booked 2 Bed at BCV in Feb. I waitlisted a 2 Bed at BWV and will keep playing the slots for it.

Well, the Fall season through the December holidays is the busiest time for DVC. So maybe that's why you're not seeing much

I started playing less, my two resorts im going for wont budge.

Ofc i am shooting for a holiday at vgc and 1 bedroom villa at bwv during holidays so there's my problem, its too specific

Things usually get better 60 days out when people decide eh I don't want to go. Or when commercial renters drop reservations they haven't filled.

Definitely true, but the dates I’m looking for are one night in Oct and late Jan (but not the holiday weekend). I’m hoping for more movement closer to the end of the year on the Jan dates…but actually realized today that maybe I want to stay in the 1bd and not try to change to a studio after all because a lot of the points were banked into this UY, so I may not get another chance to use them.

I haven't seen not one day pop up for vgc in October, craziness, January either so yes it agree farther out doesnt seem to be the way. Bcv popped up like crazy in September last month I was stunned like I stalked it so hard and there it is. Except for some outliers def 60-90 days out seems to be the way.

I do think that October is the busiest time there. I booked September this year to avoid the crowds and I recently found out that my weekend is Gay Days, so it'll be insanely crowded for that.

You still might catch a cancellation if you are flexible. If you see one, don't think - just grab it.

I am literally trying for anything I dont care if its a weekday, 1 day, whenever I am there, it it slim pickings!

We have the 4 day 70th anniversary ticket and have used 3 days, it expires on August 14th I believe and now im spoiled as hell so I dont want to go anymore without staying, but since thats in about three weeks I doubt we grab anything

I saw one yesterday mid september but we will already be in Orlando. It was gone in 3 seconds. Really the reason I was so lucky there before is because I was refreshing all day everyday.

My wife was starting to get pissed at me and it was somewhat affecting our relationship so I slowed down on the crazy but I am determined to try again!

Well, the degen in me is kicking in and I am back at the DVC slot machine....this time, I'm playing with someone else's points!

My friend and I made the impulsive decision to book a 3-night trip for the first week of December so that we could squeeze in Jollywood Nights and a MVMCP. SWA had a sale and we saw prices and flights from our local airport that we thought were a glitch. Non-stop flights with morning arrivals and afternoon departures that were under $200 round-trip! After all of the price drops from our upcoming October trip, we were both sitting on over 20K points so we were able to book the Anytime fares on points! Since this trip has to be as cheap as possible, we planned on "slumming it" at the All-Stars and got a quote for the ASSports for about $730 for the 3 nights. It's only 35 points for a studio at OKW which is where we would prefer to stay for a short, resort-only trip. I e-mailed my DVC "dealer" and she said she has some points left in her Oct UY but since we already did our annual transfer, she will have to book a reservation for me. She is setting up the waitlist for me and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it comes through. I've had amazing luck with waitlists and I don't think I have ever had one NOT come through, but I think this may be the one. I won't be disappointed either way. I've stayed at OKW several times and I have never been to the All-Stars so it would be a new experience. Fingers crossed....
