Is anyone here diabetic? I am i was diagnosed a year ago. I have type 2. I take pills and on a calorie diet to keep everything under controll. So if you have it what kind and for how long have you had it? And do you take medication?

well, i dont have it but my dad does...not sure what type he has but hes had it for about 2 months now.

He probly has type 2 cause type 1 in juvinal mine in complicated because i should be type 1 since I am only 16 years old but it is weird cause I have hypoglycemic meaning low blood sugar so I guess thats how it turned out type 2. I don't know its strange.

yea, type 2 does sound familiar because come to think of it i remember my dad telling my family he had type 2.

my friend has type one and he has to check his blood sugar a lot. i feel bad sometimes, but he doesnt seem to mind lol it gets him outta work sometimes haha

my aunt also has type 2 and she always tells me to keep my health good and keep excersising so that i dont get it beacuse of poor diet. i dont think id be able to give myself a shot everday..

Hey take care of yourself. My dad had type 1,Juvenile, diabetes and when i was five he died. He had it since he was 15. my two uncles have type 1 diabetes and my mom has type 2 diabetes. So please take care of yourself, and NEVER stop taking care of yourself, because my mom said that before i was born my dad didnt really take care of himself and it caught up to him, so i beg you to take VERY good care of yourself.

O don't worry I'll take care of myself I seen to many people not and pay the consoquenses(sp?) and it makes me sad that they won't take care. I am sorry to hear about your dad I remember you told us when it happened.I do believe that was you.

no, it wasnt me, he died when i was five. That was about 9 or 10 years ago. its ok, i just dont want to see any more people die because of that disease, expecially if they could have helped themselves stay alive.

No but, my friends dad and my moms friend does. Her friend had it so bad he was rushed to the hospital and stayed there for over a month!

i don't, but my mom has had it for almost 15 years and she has type two and she takes insulin shots. 2 of my best friends have type one, one takes shots and one has the pump. do take care of yourself, i've had to deal with so many health problems with my two best friends and my mom that i know the disease like the back of my hand.
