Just got back from The Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls. OMG, now DD17 wants to go, too bad she didn't go this time but yous all know about having boyfriends. I am ready to go back, I just have to get more $$$$$$$. I will know next time that we can take all you want food of your own into the waterpark. The room key wow. The wristband they give you is your room key and locker key too, all programed in.

So - how was the waterpark? How many slides? Is there a lazy river or a wave pool of some sort?
Thanks in advance.
Nancy

Do people walk around with water shoes? I hear this place is amazing! I would like to try it this summer if my family doesn't visit WDW. How was the food...is there a food court?

Any Pictures?

So is it worth the Price of Admission?

The $500.00+ Price Tag? :lmao:

Hi again. I donot know the price because SIL that went is a Travel Agent and booked it too. There was so many rollercoaster like water rides, too many to remember and count. All the park workers also wore Crocs. I am saving my money now to go back, with all the new indoor waterparks going in, in Niagara Falls I am sure the prices will lower.

Hi ~ I'm the sister-in-law that went with her :goodvibes

Great Wolf Lodge is located on Victoria Ave way down by the whirlpool gondola. We drove to River Road to see the whirlpools and the GWL was right behind us! We could have walked but didn't realize it! There is still a lot of construction on the roads nearby but that should be done soon.

The room was large (family suite with balcony) ~ two queen beds and double sofa bed. It had a microwave, beer size fridge and coffee maker. The vanity with sink was outside the bathroom which was good but the bathroom was incredibly tiny!!! Rooms all had a theme similiar to Disney Wilderness Lodge. The lobby was gorgeous with all wood, stone fireplace and wolves, moose, bears etc everywhere. I have pictures but have to pick them after work. If my computer gets fixed this week I will upload some for you.
The water park was awesome! The Canada Vortex was great ~ a double tube down a shute into the "toilet bowl" as my DD6 called it. You go around about 3-5 times and then drop down the drain to a pool. Very fun. The Wooly Mammoth is the family raft (max 4 ppl) was good as was the roller coaster raft (can't think of the name) Very fast and wet! There were 6-7 raft rides plus 4 toddler slides, 2 kid slides, wave pool, kid pool, 2 adult only hot tubs, one family hot tub, large water treefort with dumping bucket and an area for kids to climb across the water by rope. I don't think I'm missing anything but it went by in a blurr so we may have missed something! I
The biggest disappointment was the lazy river. DS9 is disabled and does not like slides but was looking forward to the river. It was cold, crowded and very short (nothing like BB or TL)

Otherwise the resort is great ~ one night was not enough but at $299 for 6 people it was all the pocketbook could handle!

There were water shoes everywhere!

There was no food court but they had a Pizza Hut express, a bakery (with bagels etc.), a table service restaurant and a coffee "shop". We just had bakery stuff for breakfast and ate dinner at Burger King to save money. There is also a snack shop inside the water park. The breakfast buffet was $12.99 adults/7.99 kids but we didn't try it. It smelled good though.

Thanks!

It's definately WDW with those prices! A Lazy river that's short, no good for us that don't like the water slides!

Glad to hear that you had some fun!

Remember if you are a niagara resident, you get a discount, believe it was 100 off for the night. So check into that if you are planning to go. Have fun

I just got an email that said I can get a group rate of $159.99 for one night in October, I am looking at the web site now to see more info, is the mini golf included in the price?
Looks like a neat place!

No mini-golf is not included in the price ~ but I don't know how much it was.

Where did you get the rate for $159? Is that open to everyone? I have a group of about 8 families that would love to go together.

I * think* it is open to anyone the email I got was from my homeschool group, I have attached part of the message below, you book it yourself online so that is why I think anyone can use it but it is for October so if you don't mind waiting that is when it is

An INCREDIBLE room rate of $159.00/room/night plus taxes, has been offered
to us. This is a HUGE savings compared to the regular rates of over
$350/night!!! This price is for a family suite with two queen size beds, a
sofa bed, mini refrigerator and a microwave. (Take advantage of these
appliances and bring your own food saving yourself even more $$!) The rate
is based on up to four people per room INCLUDING (up to) four waterpark
passes. Two additional people are allowed in each room as well for $20/pp
which includes their waterpark passes. You choose what night(s) 26th and/or
27th of October, you wish to stay. Saturday night is also available, but at
a higher rate of $199.00 for the night. Where do you get a hotel room for a
night, plus an entire day of Indoor waterpark fun for the whole family for
this price? It is an excellent opportunity and the Fundraising Committee of
Calvin Christian School, Hamilton is thrilled to share this with you!

We have a limited number of rooms available at this price, so…the early bird
gets the worm! Our booking code is: 9A000U. You can book on-line
www.greatwolflodge.com and enter the code
into the "Group Code" box or call 1-800-605-WOLF (9653) and quote the code
to the operator. We are asking all families who take advantage of this
exciting opportunity to donate $10.00 to the fundraising committee of CCS,
Hamilton. Cheques for this can be made out to: Calvin Christian
School-Fundraising and sent to: Calvin Christian School 547 West 5th St.
Hamilton, ON L9C 3P7 Att’n: Tammy Veld.

Hope this helps!

:cool1: Thanks for that info! I've just booked the 27 & 28 for $159 and $179. It will be a great weekend away and falls on my 8year olds birthday. Perfect timing!
He's been begging to go there - so we'll ask his best friend to go with us closer to the date (only $20per night more). We'll surprise him that weekend by driving straight down from school!!

Am I able to use that code to book as well? It sounds like a great rate and we'd love to do it, but if it isn't "allowed" I won't do it!! Wouldn't want to get in trouble ... but it would be perfect timing for my kiddos as my littlest will hopefull be a better traveller once we are out of the terrible twos :Pinkbounc !!!

I am sure that you can use that code, seems to work fine and you don't need to show ID when you show up, if they ask you what school this is for you can say Calvin Christian school which is where it is from.
HTH

I am just bumping this thread for any one who can use this code!!!
Have fun everyone!

I've been trying to convince my husband to go. The special rate should help. Thanks!

I just tried the code and was told all the rooms were booked. I was too slow this time but hopefully it was a good fundraiser for you. I'll be watching the boards for any other deals!
