there I admitted it, I don't watch American Idol. Please tell me that I am not the only one.

You are not alone, my friend.![]()
The worse thing is that AI begot Skating with Celebrities and So You Think You Can Dance. There's no end!!!

JUST KIDDING!!! My goal in life is to get my dad hooked, but he has yet to convert. At least this season he knows one of the contestants ("the grey haired guy") so that he's not completely clueless when people talk about it at work.
I give him buzz phrases like "it'll come down to Chris and Taylor" or "Katharine is the strongest girl in the competition" and he has something to contribute.
That being said, if you ever need a good water cooler buzz phrase, you can always come to me.

I like the other shows because of the challenges, the mind games, and the "fly-on-the-wall" voyeurism aspect. Fascinating, as Spock would say. I tried to watch AI, but it just seems so... dull. No big twists, no fun trash talk, just mediocre songs sung by pretty good amateur singers, judges who don't really have any say in the matter, and looooots of filler.
apopogies to folks who love the show- I just don't get it.
