I just used the gym as funny example to keep the mood light.
I couldn't care less about the gym closing down.
I thought is was funny!
We still laugh about it. See my original post.

Now I am perplexed.
:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Do you need proof that mugs bought under the new policy are only good for length of stay?????????????? I need a letter from the VP before I am ever allowed to give advice??????
So when DIS members ask the refill mug question I cannot tell them if they bought their mug pre 2000 and it was posted as lifetime refills it is OK but if they bought their mugs after that offer expired I am still not allowed to tell the rules say to only use the mug for length of stay.

I do not understand.

Why can you give advice and I can't? :rolleyes2

Have fun at Disney! :wizard:

Being perplexed seems to be a common trait around here...

I think when you go as far as bolding your text to state official disney policy:

The old refillable mugs are NO LONGER good for a lifetime.

you should at least have some proof to back this up. Otherwise it's just speculation, my friend. Your argument is not sound, so why give advice at all? My argument can't be proven wrong, so I tell people that if they bought a mug back in the day when it was "for life refills" why not bring it back and ask the manager on duty if they can use it. Being a former CM, I know what importance is placed on exceeding guest expectation. I assume, and I infer from all of the countless times someone on this board has said they have been alllowed to use their old mug when they asked the CM, that Disney still honours the policy even though it has been changed to account for the new mugs being sold. My argument is laced with truth and experience from Disers who have been told they can.

What is your argument based on? Were you denied use of a mug that was sold to you under the previous rules? Are you the ONLY one...?

My advice was to all who bought mugs with a "free refills for life" guarantee should at least try, if they so feel inclined, to have Disney honour their purchase agreement.

Your statement was delivered as fact. Which, again, we have concluded is not fact. You have provided no evidence to support that fact. That's why I question when you boldly (no pun intended) make a statement like that. It's of very little use to anyone, including a poster who asks if they can reuse their old mug. It's just ramming your opinion down their throat without any real evidence to support your claim.

We've had these dabates before and Sammie once went as far as to forge a letter on the internet that was supposedly from a VP from Disney. I contacted her, just as Sammie said he did. I got no official reply in writing...Sammie must have worded his better to get a quick response from such a busy lady...but I did get a phone call from her office (one of her minions). He said that if a guest did bring back their mug that was purchased during the marketing campaign "free refills for life", of course Disney would honour it. But he was quick to mention that policy has changed to length of stay. This is Disney we're talking about...not some ladies gym that went under in a month. I pose the question again:

Do you really think Disney would turn down a request for free refills? Are Pennies worth hundreds to them? They know when to honour a purchase agreement or not.

And again, I pose the question to you:

Why does it bother you so much that you invent rules and make ill-researched statements? Also, do you believe it is such a big deal that Disney should do something about it?

You're talking to the mug re-fill debate champ here. You should have eaten your wheaties this morning sistah...

I did not invent the rule and I would never knowing post something I did not think was true.
I have been part of a subdivision board who wrote new bylaws .( I know there is no comparison just letting you know why I thought the way I did.)
When the new bylaws went into effect the old ones were "null and Void."
Perhaps I was wrong about the mug policy and I admitted that.

I already said I may have been mistaken.
The other thread is closed so I cannot post there as I have here.

I do not eat Weaties thank you Miss Mug refill champ and as to sticking to facts the ladies gym did not go under in less than a month.
I think you need to get your facts straight! Somehow you made a mistake. You posted the ladies gym went under in a month.
I may have made a mistake and I am woman enough to admit it. Why can't you accept that????

We all make mistakes.
Just get over it.

Peace: hippie:

For a couple reasons:

1. I'm a guy :thumbsup2

2. I was arguing your statement you made and the fact you were educating Disers incorrectly. Because you write bylaws doesn't give you authority to tell people what and what not to do in WDW. Especially if those bylaws aren't Disney related at all! You, being the one who writes bylaws, should know that when people want to know what the policy is they'll ask you (the expert)...not want to be inundated by a bunch of people on the internet claiming to know-it-all. Whether your sit-and-be-fit membership expired in a month or a decade is irrelevant (and I knew that when I wrote the sentence). :thumbsup2 .

Again...if it bothers you so much, you being the policy maker that you are, should know that if something bothers you so much to get you 'hot under the collar', you should affect change by going to the policy makers themselves. Not misrepresenting facts on a message board dedicated to WDW vacation planning.

Don't present something as FACT and then expect not to be called on it :smooth:

I'm nothing if not persistent. If it makes you feel any better, I got a few PMs in your defense. It could be construed as 'hate mail'. Sorry for being so harsh today. Sometimes I forget there's a real person behind the screen name.

The mug re-fill know-it-alls get to me though. Nothing was intended personally as you were not the only one I've had this debate with. Prove to me people can't re-fill their old mugs or don't chastise them...my point to all.

It's a wonder my g/f tolerates me ;) She hates arguing with me, and she gets some of the good sides of me too (yes, I have a heart).

Maybe we can share a mug of coke at a Disney Resort refill staton one day and have a good laugh? I digress :hippie:

Goodnight Neverland

Thank you DaisyD.
I am in tears right now.
I know I should not let him get to me.
He makes it sound like I intentionally misinformed people.
I already said I would never knowing give out the wrong info.
But he has to keep beating me and beating me. :sad2: :sad2:

I don't know why you people bother to pack the old mugs - you can just use zip locks and bread bags like other people do!:lmao: :lmao: ;)

Persistent is probably the nicest thing you'll ever be called here. You are one bitter individual, who for the life of me can't understand how you've never been banned from here. I bet Disney was glad to see you go, as would most people here.

Now now, name calling? If "bitter" is a name?

Bitter about people posting fictional policies? I don't know if I would have called it bitter...just like to keep things factual. :thumbsup2 I feel people deserve correct information - isn't this a WDW planning vacation board? I just question those who invent rules or claim to know things when in fact they don't. As a lot of people here do...and I won't take something as truth if you can't prove it to me. Is that being bitter?

I think I'm either loved or hated...judging by my PMs...I'd say they're 50/50.

"We love you - keep on fighting the good fight" or "We hate you...you should be banned".

Just calling a spade a spade. I might be wrong here but I'll bet you've been called a lot worse.

50/50 is about your ratio for being directly responsible for having a thread closed. Your animosity towards others here is unrivaled.

On internet message boards? Nope...it usually breaks some sort of conduct code. And if I have been, can you tell it hasn't affected me much?

I don't know if it's more animosity I tend to dish or proving people wrong if they choose to claim moral high ground without proving themselves (which is something people hate to have happen - being proven wrong). I may get a little stylistic with how I choose to get my point across...and emotions seem to get high. But there's probably a reason this screen name hasn't been banned on the Dis (debates aren't the only thing I post on). I take nothing personal...but that's not the case with everyone you debate things with on the internet.

Like above, I did apologize. I didn't call her names. Don't mean to make anyone cry. Just questioning something someone said as it wasn't fact or truth.

Have a Disney Day Mickman! :grouphug:

I predict this thread will be closed in 5...4...3...2...1...

Hey--I don't think I've ever had one of my threads closed, though I seem to be participating in lot of them lately...
This could be an exciting new first for me!

So, anyone else have anything to contribute to the TOPIC--which was to share times when you've been a little overzealous in proclaiming the gospel of Disney rules and regs? :teeth:

I know, right?? I never imagined there could be this much discussion regarding mugs of pop!

Do they ever actually punish people for refilling the mugs?

Haha - an American that said "pop"! Thank you...you don't know how many times I've had someone on this board correct me to your version of the word - "soda". I guess the further north you are, the more we are alike? Or is at an East or West thing?

But to answer your question...no one person has reported getting punished. The only punishment that is doled out is here on the Dis...which I argue. Especially when the rule quoters don't prove their points with fact.

Perhaps that's why this is so comical?

Well, I'll go with you there.

Soda is the stuff you mix drinks with (e.g. Scotch and Soda), and not at all what I'm drinking when I swallow Diet Pepsi or Diet Sprite.

I couldn't care less what people do with their refillable mugs, just what they put in them! It's pop! ;) :teeth:
