I am planning my very first trip for my family of 5 for the first week in February 2004. This will be a first time for ALL of us including myself and my husband. From reading these posts, (which have been very helpful) I think that my decision will be to stay at a vacation home.

I have been looking at prices for vacation homes and they range from $550 to $800 including the pool heater.

All of you have talked about getting great rates on skyauction and priceline. But these deals are usually for vacations planned in Sept or Oct.

Should I be booking my vacation home now or should I be holding out until closer to my travel date and wait for better deals.

With SkyAuction, the closer to your trip, the better the deal. With Priceline it could go either way. I used Priceline in Feb for a July trip & got a better deal than when I used them again (to add onto my July trip) in June for the same July trip. You will not get a vacation home with Priceline though. if I were you, I would book with something now that has a 5 or 14 day prior cancelation policy...then see if you can get something better as time goes on. By doing that, you will have all your bases covered....you will have something if nothing better comes along.....

Thank you.

Does Priceline or SkyAuction ever have deals on Windsor Palm Condos or any other condos?

:)

Pricline.... No..... once in a blue moon you will get Westgate Lake on it for a studio unit. SkyAuction...Yes...it has the best deals around (as far as I am concerned) on Condo's. I cannot say for sure if Windsor Palm is one that they use. I know I have stayed at Westgate Villas thru them. I also know that they have some Marriott, Vistiana, Silver Lake and Orange Lake. I suggest that you go on to the web site and lurk for about a week.....see what is coming up & what the wining bid was...that way you can judge what you should bid. I won mine last year. $176 was my bid, $195 service & tax fee, $15 paperwork fee.....where are you going to get a 2 bedroom unit (slept 8) for 7 nights under $400??? Some wining bids are higher, some are lower....

Thank you so much. I will check out that website. Gosh - and all these years I didn't think I could afford to go to Disney. :bounce:
